Terrorism scares, heightened security and the innocence of children

This story that I found on FB has made me smile.

It reminds me of the occasion when my infant daughter took a swig of kerosene that she found in a lemonade bottle in her Pop's garage. At the hospital the emergency room doctor was leaning close to smell her breath and every time he did, she gave him a kiss.

It also remind me how important it is to keep the children safe and to preserve their innocence for as long as we possibly can.

When we hear the stories of radicalized terrorists using their children as suicide bombers... when we hear the stories of terrorists having children perform beheadings... it sickens me that a group supposedly human can teach their children to hate in the name of religion. Yet, that seems to have been the history of our existence. In our Country, children were raised to hate others due to race. Today, children are taught to hate due to other children's sexual orientation or other children's same-sex parents. Children are taught to hate fellow students who may be fans of an opposing professional athletic team.

It is most certainly refreshing when we hear the stories of those children who know only hugs and kisses and innocently believe that everyone is good.
