I believe most, maybe all, of us have some things to be thankful for. We Canadians celebrated our Thanksgiving last month. My household and several others got together for a feast, with each household contributing something.
And so now I wish our American SF'ers a very Happy Thanksgiving.
I don't enjoy Thanksgiving as much lately. Mainly because I can't find Mince Pie in the store anymore. From what I read online, some people still refer to it as Mincemeat Pie. Some silly people still think there is meat on it. That went out in the 30's or 40's with most people. I used to get Mrs. Fields's or Sara Lee frozen Mince Pies in the stores.
I did one time buy a mincemeat pie from the Amish. I was shocked to find actual meat in it.
My dad carves the bird. I recognize the background. The photo was taken at the Victorian house. It had to be taken between 1975 (when my parents bought the house) and 1982 (dad's last Thanksgiving). From the look of it, probably closer to the earlier date since he looks relatively healthy.
