Hey @Lilac , we find it easier to line up for the kitchen with our paper plates while leaning against the walls and chatting.

We serve ourselves at the stove, straight from the pots the foods were cooked in, thereby eliminating the washing of serving dishes. Unless there are leftovers which there usually aren't.

Then we head to the living room and eat on the floor in front of the TV. There's a cooler stocked with recyclable cans. In the corner of the room are a few big plastic lawn and leaf bags where everyone dumps their own trash when they've finished eating.

Help yourselves to store bought pie eaten on a paper napkin while standing around blabbing. It's customary to wipe your mouths on your sleeves. First one leaving takes the trash out.
