That was a long time ago(The Queens Coronation)

The last Coronation party I went to was at the Local Church hall, on 2nd June 1953!

I wasn't even a glint in my mother or fathers eye.. in fact my parents hadn't even met yet...

While I'd already hatched and was 3 months old.

I was 5 but as we didn't have a TV, there wasn't much of a stir about it at our house.

I remember bits, I was almost 13.

I was 20 and just graduating from nursing school when we watched Elizabeth's coronation.

Met my wife in June of '53. She had just turned 17 and I was a more elderly 19.

i was 9,we all piled in the nieghbours house to watch on there 9inch screen tv

I was 1, don't remember much.

Somehow I have always known she became queen shortly before my birth. So Charles is just my second monarch, been through too many presidents to count, starting with Harry Truman...

Although American, my mother with English heritage was agog over British royalty, and came back from a visit to Britain with souvenirs of the Queen’s then 50th anniversary celebration.

As rare as a coronation can be, I’ve heard it described as a once-in-a-lifetime event, akin to the appearance of Halley’s Comet every 70 years!

I was six years old and the only memory I have is of a huge flag flown between our house and the one next door. If I attended any party I don't have any recollection of it and no photographs taken on the day. I do however have a photo of the Coronation street party, which my mother was part of, to celebrate the coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth in 1937.

I was 5 yrs. old, and my two older sisters came home from school wearing crepe paper robes trimmed with
cotton batting. The school children were given coins to commemorate the event.

Thank you, that looks good. My mam is the girl sat at the front of the table with her arm around her little brother who is standing next to her.

same has my hubby @jet , they had the only tv in their block, , he was 10 yrs old

i wasnt even thought off............ .mum was born 1926 same as the queen, ...........mum says she happy shes still here to see 2 coronations ....
