This instantly caught my attention!
1. Physical deterioration
Different with each individual. My knees are shot and affect my mobility. But, my heart’s strong and I see not loss in mental acuity.
2. Loss
We all lose people we love and things we enjoy at all ages.
3. Looking old
A matter of ego.
4. Achieving your dreams and NOT achieving your dreams
The worst thing anyone can have is the, “If I only...” syndrome.
5. Dwindling excitement
Again, it’s a matter of personal beliefs and desires

The very worst is knowing that it ain't gonna get any better.

I take issue with that. There are things in my life that are, in fact, getting better, as I age. Certain attitudinal adjustments seem to be providing me with greater satisfaction, these days.

1. joints hurting in the night and distrupting my sleep.

2. Joints hurting during the day as I try to get around. Pain in my legs and knees constentaly.

I'll try to finish this now.

3. Forgetting things sometimes. Just like a gray wall falls down and that is that for that area. :(

4. Young people thinking they are smarter than you are. (They aren't!!!)

5. Not being able to open bottles and jars like I used to.

Gotta agree

Retirement has enabled me to focus...on me...and my lady
Sends me back 50 years

But 5 worst...hmmm

Getting old
Then, being old
Doing what I used to do...then paying for it
Not seeing close up
Not seeing far down

There's more, but need my reading glasses

...wherever they are

I'm with Linda on this. The worst thing about aging is the physical pains. And since my friend fell and died from her fall last month I add the fear of getting badly hurt from being stiff and in pain and falling and getting more hurt, or even dying because of it. I am optimistic though. I do yoga and it does help. Staying positive is so important for seniors. I hope to be able to hike more this spring because the tranquility of nature so improves the mood overall.:love_heart:

The second worse thing is losing loved ones and friends. :(

Finally, I hate looking old. Since how we look impacts how we feel I spend gobs of time and money putting myself together and when I get a compliment it makes me feel better physically and this is worth a lot. Never forget there is a mind/body connection.

!/Not fitting into my Batman suit quite as well anymore...
2/People STARING at me just cos I'm eating crayons [especially the yummy green ones]
3/Farts can be dangerous...[yeaaah,YOU know what I mean].....
4/Run for the bus? Yer JOKIN'...I didn't want that one anyway!
5/I can't remem...OH,yes!...losing your...umm...that thing you remember things with...

Finally, I hate looking old.

Chic, you need to think "Looking Wise", not old, speak with
a teenager and find out how much wiser than she/he is, do
some mental arithmetic and see the amazed look on their
face when they realise that you did it with out a phone app,
or a calculator.

So stop feeling old, feel special.

Mike.

1. doing my daily morning exercises for my partial right knee,it takes me a bit longer to get up off the floor
2. as Linda and Chic have said, losing loved ones and close friends, trying to open bottles
My biggest fear is falling but I take 3 daily walks a day,in winter if there is a lot of snow/ice on sidewalks I always wear YakTraks om my boots which helps

1. Teeth just barely hanging in there. (On the other hand, I'm lucky to still have them!)

2. In a conversation with young people, being barely able to understand what they are talking about.

3. A lot of people seem to lose their hearing. Again, I'm lucky to still have mine.

4. Travel becomes a lot less fun.

5. Being regarded as irrelevant, and largely ignored. Unless you insist on being heard, and therefore being regarded as a grouchy old curmugeon, you are mainly put on a shelf.

6. Moviequeen, "takes a bit longer to get up off the floor?: You mean you are still ABLE to get up off the floor? ;)

(Oh, I was supposed to stop at 5 things. So, I guess I should add not being able to count?)

Oh-and I thought of five MORE things,too,as well,also;

1/Laces. Well,forget THAT idea,bending down,pulling,tugging,swearing,tutting...long live 'slip-ons'
2/As Mike said, doing arithmetic/equations in my head, then being stared at by 'millenials' as if I'm a wierdo.
3/Remembering what room I'm in,but not what I walked into it for...
4/I can't remember what number 4 was...
5/Topping up with petrol at the local garage-then remembering I'm driving my DIESEL Land Rover.

My hearing aids need batteries about every 5 days, my teeth soak overnight in a container, I get up 2 or 3 times a night to visit the bathroom, my back hurts if I stand too long, I have arthritis in the joints of my index fingers, and the doctor will spank us if we drink alcohol.
On the plus side I retired 21 years ago and have not missed work yet. The cataract surgery was a success, my knee replacements work fine, I still have all my hair, but the color has faded away.
I had no problem driving 140 miles to my sister's and back for a visit for her 90th birthday last week. I have come to really hate flying, but the kids and grandkids like coming to Florida to see the old folks. Mrs Manatee and I have been married 59 years and still do fine together.

Ah...I can't remember whether I posted on here or not...
so
1/realising slightly baggy corduroy trousers are no longer the height of fashion
2/brushing my tooth-then realising too late I'm using the dog's brush.
3/Chatting with an old friend I bump into and having to avoid names,as I really haven't a clue.
4/Setting off to go to...umm...and somehow ending up in...err...[but the shops were open,so all is not lost]
5/Knowing the dates of the battle of Trafalgar, the defeat of the Spanish Armada, the battle of Little Big Horn-but NOT knowing where my keys are.

That nothing, ever works out. I would think perhaps something would but it never does. I wanted to buy a mobile in a park. Now with the recent disaster in my area, dumps are selling for double, triple what they were and I can't move due to my stepfather. Narcissist brother is verbally abusive from 3000 miles away stating I'm doing nothing. He thinks he's some kind of hero.
