The British royal family is about to have its first-ever gay wedding

I suspect that it will be largely ignored this side of the pond.

We have so many of these minor royals littering the place that one doesn't even try to keep track.

I've never even heard of this particular one, and I've lived here for more than eighty years!

The beginning of the end of the British royal family was in 1918 when King George V was politically forced to change his family name... and again in 1936 when his son, King Edward VIII, abdicated the throne to marry an American divorcee [they had no children.]

Ironically, "British Israelite" ideology connects the end of the British monarchy with the second coming of Christ. The demise of the current British royal family signals the return of their divine replacement, the King of kings.

The one guy informed his to-be wife that he was bisexual and she married him anyway. They had three kids together that will be at the wedding. Then, he divorced her and is now marrying a man.
I sure don't understand it nor will I ever, ever approve of same-sex marriage at all. My wife totally agrees with me.

Now, this is our opinion only, but there are many in the U.S. that don't approve of same-sex marriage and never will. In fact, some of those folks go "Yuk" at even hearing about it.

Guess wife and I are "old school" in this respect...…..female and male marriage only.

You approve and like it, that's entirely up to you, but there are those, like us, that absolutely don't and won't.

Queen Victoria was called the "grandmother of Europe" because her grandchildren ruled many of the royal houses of Europe.

Before WW1 destroyed many of the royal houses, King George V of Britain, Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany and Tsar Nicholas II of Russia were all family. They were cousins who would sometimes wear each others' military uniforms. The Kaiser and the Tsar wrote many personal letters to each other trying to avoid the war. Nicholas' wife, Alexandra, was a German Princess and Queen Victoria's granddaughter. Because of WW1 [the war President Wilson said would make the world safe for democracy] Tsar Nicholas was forced by revolutionaries to abdicate in 1917 and the Russian monarchy was destroyed. Then Tsar Nicholas and his entire family were murdered by Bolshevik revolutionaries in 1918. Also in 1918, Kaiser Wilhelm II was forced by revolutionaries to abdicate and the German monarchy was destroyed. Also in 1918 to try to appease potential enemies, King George V changed his German family name to Windsor. 100 years of appeasement hath wrought not just the demise of the British royal family but also the kingdom, church and people they were supposed to preserve and defend.
