The Charlie Kirk shooting.

It was a tragic event.

I can’t wrap my head around the official honors, using Air Force two, government flags at half staff, a movement to have his body lie in state, etc…

It feels like a martyr is being born and that there are those that want to capitalize on his tragic death, very sad.
You're right on. A martyr has been born. Now look around to find who has the most to gain for this? Who would want to draw attention to something like this and for what reason? Create a sad situation for the American people and go on with what you wanted to do with no scutiny.

Also the shooter knew percisely how to and what he was doing. A marksman. Where would you get one of those?

Somebody's up to no good.

There was an attempt on Trump's life a few month ago. And now, there's the assassination of Charlie Kirk. As a senior, this brings back horrid memories of Bobby & Martin. Regardless of political stripes, this is not a good omen.

The only point I would like to make is that Charlie Kirk isn’t an elected official… he’s a private individual who’s made a fortune off his (in my view, horrible) viewpoints. Why is he being given so many honors when school children are shot dead more times than we can count. Are the flags lowered for them?

As usual the internet showed it's impatience. It was fist pumping when they said they had a suspect in custody. Then after the second suspect was released they're screaming for the head of the FBI and police less than 12 hours later. Investigation takes time and sometimes a lead leads to nothing.

Wasn't there a show called the First 48 or something because unless a murder is solved during the first 48 hours chances are it will be unsolved or the suspect have gotten away. I think they said this took 33 hours.

Some are getting 60s flashbacks which gave spawn to the likes of the SLA in the 1970s.

The incompetence of the FBI was showing.
Fortunately for them, the parents turned the kid in.

I understand his motive now and it will shed negative light where, it will ironically do great harm to innocent other similar individuals. News media has understandably shied away from posting much less committing to the story line if true. The killer had apparently been on "The Voice" tv show and then gave interviews. One needs to understand there are extreme groups in both the Left and Right where there are plenty of members that have the capacity to do the same unless we United States of American citizens change how such groups as RAF and Antifa and Proud Boys and Oath Keepers are allowed given free speech to have free run in media, indoctrinating those weak minded.

I don't know anything about the victim's' politics or who he was. But the below taken from news media says much to this person with unusual Christian beliefs about another Christian that has obviously also studied The Bible:

Moments before his assassination at Utah Valley University (UVU) during an event that was part of "The American Comeback Tour," Kirk spoke about the Bible. A man who was always open about his connection to faith, Kirk reaffirmed his belief in Jesus Christ, referring to Corinthians verses.

"It’s not just intrabiblical evidence, but extrabiblical evidence that Jesus Christ was a real person. He lived a perfect life, he was crucified, died and rose on the third day, and he is Lord and God over all," Kirk said while sitting under the very tent where he would be fatally shot. ❤️

There are some good verses in Corinthians.

1st Corinthians, chapter 13, verse 4 - 5 says "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs."
