Harrys like his mother (Diana), strong headed , and doesn’t like to be told , plus she only wanted a normal life for her boys ……so this royal ( you must do this and that ) wasn’t to be for Harry…
…He has 2 beautiful children, a loving wife and he appears to be happy ……Good luck to him ….!!

Their life is so different from what Harry lived as a child ... they seem to live a very active lifestyle on the West Coast.
And the birthday party yesterday for Archie was probably most enjoyable after all that air travel across the continents.

I do hope that is the case. And if it is, he is doing the right thing. With so many copies sold, I'm waiting to find a copy of Spare at the thrift store eventually. I do want to read it.
 
Something I noticed in the news coverage and again today in a PBS special about Charles.
Do they seem to be skipping the Charles and Diana era?
I saw them show pictures of Charles and Camilla back in the days when they were young and dating then sort of gloss over until the present like she was always there. I guess she was there (waiting for her prince) but Diana was the mother of his children.
Anyone else get that sense?

well tbf.. they can't celebrate the King and Queen by showing pictures of his ex wife... most people who get divorced don't keep showing pictures of their exes at family Parties..lol
 
If I don't "like" every photo and history lesson it's only because Holly has put together such a vast scrapbook of knowledge for us that this post is my "like" for all of it!
I never had a great interest in the royal family. I guess just the scandals. 😊 however, this was all so interesting!

When does that love turn to resentment? Watching the coronation I think Harry will be remorseful for his actions. Although not wanting to carry on in his royal roll he is still a Prince and that is his family. I think King Charles is sad because of the ongoing feud between the family. Put yourself in his place , and it is all being played out in the public eye. What pressure for a man that has worked hard, not only for the firm but for the good of the people and the earth.

Not only affordable but free housing is available. Many on the street want to be there. Most are either hopeless drug addicts or mentally ill. The closing by Reagan of the psychiatric institutions being closed was a terrible error. Yes, some of the folks running the state and county hospitals were mentally unstable as well, yet they lacked proper oversight, which is a must. All this needs revisiting, and re-instituted. The USA has the wherewithal to handle this.

Oh I agree about some wanting to be on the street. This is a fact. Drugs or severe mental illness, they can't comply with anything. The stand alone small shelters in my town do allow pets which they need to. People will often not give up their pets.

A couple of years ago there was a guy in the gulch behind my work place. Ranting, yelling, cursing, repetitive. People said it had been going on for days (I work part time) He finally stopped. Were authorities called? Did he move on? Someone in this state of psychosis cannot take care of themselves.

And yes, there are nuts and personality disorders who work in all kids of industries including medical and I think some of these state surveyors are complete Cluster B's.

But even for working people, the building is not being done. I see apartment complexes go up on small pieces of property that sat for the years I've lived in this area. One triangle of property was for sale for years. Now it has "luxury" apartments on it. But someone gets the rent. Not places for people to buy. Not everyone wants, needs or can afford a stick built house.
