The "eyes" have it!

Just for fun, my daughter made this collage  Her, husband, three kids and me. First line...Milo (the baby) and his baby blues. Paige's eyes are the green shade next to him, (usually they're a deeper green than this) then River, her 7 year old son.

Next line is Lucy, the 5 year old, then me,(and our eyes look the most similar) and then her husband William. Fascinating how Milo's eyes are such a startling blue when no one on either side of that family carry that trait!

So interesting. Apparently all Caucasian babies are born with blue to grey eyes which change over time. I didn’t know this until much later in life.

Milo’s intense blue eyes are spectacular and Rivers eyes look gorgeous. They are a deep hazel which seems rare but look at his lashes.

Green eyes are my favourite colour. My mom has the most gorgeous sea foam green eyes ever which now really show up since she is all grey and silver haired. Unfortunately I didn’t inherit them. My eyes are more swamp water green.

Paige and Williams eyes look very similar.

Keesha, yeah, babies in general are born with dark blue eyes. All Paige's kids were born with blue eyes which changed over time. Paige was absolutely tickled that Milo's eyes just got more and more blue, resulting in that gorgeous, intense color! He's a complete towhead right now, so that deep blue against his blonde locks looks stunning!

Here are the kids who belong to those eyes ;)

And Milo's baby blues and blonde hair...eyes are a bit washed out in this pic, they're much more intense blue in person.

Those are very attractive kids Ronni. I agree that blonde hair and blue eyes are spectacular. There’s such a contrast . Dark brown eyes with dark brown hair can be quite stunning too. Some people have gorgeous eyes. I’m smitten with eyes also.
Very cute pics.

My Mum had the most amazing eyes, and I was sad that I didn't inherit them, nor did any of my kids. They were gray...like this pic. These are not her eyes, just some stock photo, but the visual does a much better job..the color is hard to describe just with words.

There is no photo of her that I've ever found that captures her eye color. Back then in the early days the photos were just black and white, and even after color photography it was still hard to get a good close up. Add to that she always wore glasses and between the glint of the glass and the fact that they always slipped down her nose so that the frame got in the way, and there just isn't a good photo.

Anyway, her eyes were piercing. I remember them SO well!!!

Rose, the link worked for me, this is the photo.

Eye color has always interested me. My Mom's Dad had the prettiest blue eyes. Her 5 brothers had blue eyes ,but the only daughter out of 6 that had blue eyes was a twin with one of the boys. Of all of the grandchildren( about 80) all the boys had blue eyes and I was the only granddaughter with blue eyes and I also had a twin that didn't survive. They said it most likely was a boy. Both my parents and my brother and sister had brown eyes, but I had blue. I married a blue eyed man and we have 2 blue eyed children and one blue eyed grandchild. On my dad's side no one had blue eyes. It still interests me about how you get your eye color.
