The first characteristic that caught your attention

When you first met your spouse, what was the first characteristic that attract you to them? Does it still have the same effect as it use to?
When I first met Michael, his gentle approach to all things, drew my trust. He is still the most gentle man I know.:kiss-tongue::happy::happy:

He was quiet, strong, smart and a bit mysterious...sexy eyes didn't hurt either, LOL. :bigwink: Still the same effect, forty years later. :love_heart: Have to add that his love for nature and animals was a quality I admired and shared with him, still do.

He arrived with a floral bouquet for me. To this day, he continuously makes sure I always have fresh flowers in my vase.
As we walked along the beach I caught a glimpse of him putting a piece of trash into his pocket. He is still neat as a pin.
I was a little quiet on the ride back in the car. (I don't run my mouth constantly) He spoke up asking me if I had a problem. I told him "No"
He still asks, if he is unsure of anything regarding me. I appreciate his desire for truth and open communications between us.

When I first met my husband to be he was 17, nearly 18, and I was 15. He was over on holiday in my home island with his family. His much older brother and sister-in-law were friends of my parents. I was told by my father I had to be nice to him, or else! That didn't please me, I wasn't particularly interest in boys, especially ones to whom I had to be nice!:D Anyway we were introduced and he looked as bored as me, with an 'I don't want to have been here', expression on his face. Anyway we got chatting, he was highly intelligent, unlike me, and I married him four years later. 45 years on from our marriage, are still together and haven't murdered each other yet!:D I have no idea what he saw in me, possibly he was interested because my family was very different to his own.

I was 15,he was 17 and I fell in love with him on our first date because he was such a gentleman. Opened all doors for me,treated me with such respect. It has been 48 years since that first date-46 years married and he still treats me exactly the same.

I would detest it if a man opened doors for me because I was a woman, we should open doors for each other. I don't want to be treated as special, just as equal to a man.

Well, if I'd married whom I believe to have been the right man, it would have been his gentle ways. He was kind and thoughtful of me, and a gentleman. And so handsome:) to me anyway. We both worked on The Wildlife Safari in Winston Oregon. I worked in the gift-shop, and he was a ranger (wow, something about those uniforms). We were both 20 when we met. I won't go any further on the story, it doesn't fit here:) Denise

How lovely, a man who treats you like a lady. I like that, there's not too many around these days.. :)
