This always reminds me of the guy I worked with from Jamaica who traveled around the US taking various short term contract jobs.

He told me that he told his wife, "when I go to America, I'm not married". Which meant he would have lovers wherever he went. What brought up his story was when I asked him why, over the phone, he called the woman he was talking to "sweetie pie". It was for the same reason....he said he was with so many different women he didn't bother to remember their names.

Why did his wife agree to all this? Because in Jamaica, his wife lived like a queen in one of the biggest houses on the island. I guess with the rate of currency exchange at the time his money was worth 6 times as much when he sent back to Jamaica.
