Pengiuns vs. Lions

A guy that used to work in same department that I did had a theory about these animals.

What's with penguins? The male penguin, who is monogamous, is stuck caring for the egg and slowly starving during the worst part of the Antarctic winter while the female goes off on a four month fishing trip.

The lions got it right. The male has a harem of females and they go out and hunt while he sleeps in the shade and he gets to eat first. The females also take exclusive care of raising the cubs.
