The grammar police- proper grammar

It doesn't matter whether town is singular or plural. The subject of the sentence is "you". You ARE going to town. ARE you going to town??
You restated the sentence and that's fine but town is still singular. It does matter. Are you going to towns? I'm not going back to look it up. Check it out what was said about town being plural.

You are missing the point. In that sentence, "town" has nothing to do with whether the verb is singular or plural. The subject of the sentence is "YOU." So the subject and verb should match. Therefore, 'you are', not 'you is.'

Since this is a grammar thread I couldn't find a proper word.
What would be a good word for being taken to task for a minor incident?
Never let an innocent comment go unpunished?
Yes! It’s a grammar thread and I have no idea why you always manage to turn yourself into a poor innocent victim whenever we communicate but knock yourself out if that’s what you wanna do.

I love this song.

I'm gonna walk right up to her gate
And see if I can get it straight
'Cause I want her
I'm gonna ask her

Is you is or is you ain't my baby
Way you're acting lately makes me doubt
You'se is still my baby, baby
Seems my flame in your heart's done gone out
