The grammar police- proper grammar

Oooh you can speak Cornish?>.wow!! That's impressive Mike.
Sorry hollydolly, I must have misled you, I cannot speak Cornish,
in fact very few Cornish people can speak Cornish, I can speak
and understand the Cornish version of English, which in many
cases is a bit like listening to Indians in India speaking English,
very strong accents and the emphasis in the wrong place.

Mike.

Oh I thought you said you could speak Cornish, but yes I'm the same , having lived there I can understand the deep Cornish accent, which in reality is why I moved from there because my daughter was just learning to talk and I didn't want her growing up with that accent

Ive got two remotes for the telly as well and the batteries never seem to run out.

I also have a few remotes that are defunct and hidden away in drawers and some I cant recall what they are or were for :unsure::ROFLMAO:
There must be thousands hidden away. I needed one for a Sony television that won't accept a universal remote. I bought the t.v. by accident at a yard sale and I thought it was a monitor. So I had to get one from Sony.
I went to a second hand shop and asked them if they had any remotes.
There was a huge box full of them which I decided to go through one by one.
Fortunately, the one that I needed was there and it worked.
Most cable remotes can be programmed to turn on other devices connected like a DVD player.

So why do all yous guys need four remotes for one t.v. Set

I'm fascinated by this Cornish. I never knew it was different from English. I was just looking at a video about it. There are only 500 people left who can speak it!

You surprise me RadishRose, I was under the impression
that there were a lot fewer than 500, but that might be the
local Education Authorities trying to frighten people to try
and learn the language, which I believe is working as there
are several classes teaching it, but not in regular schools
for children as far as I know.

There is also Gaelic spoken in Scotland, Wales and Ireland,
a version of Welsh Gaelic is also spoken in Punta Arenas
Southern Chile, lots of Welsh and miners went there in the
1800, along with others from the British Isles, but the Welsh
language was the widest spoken and is to this day I believe.

I knew that there was very few people left who can speak Cornish because of my friend who was born and raised speaking Cornish. The funny and very odd thing is that when he's speaking English he speaks it with a welsh lilt, and not with a West country accent...

The English language needs a proper word to signify a singular person of either sex. I get so tired of writing his or her. Some say the word "their" can be used in informal writing, but I've always understood the word "their" to plural.

That "you's has always confused me.
Rocky said "yous, so it must be correct rather than you's

Now, who, or whom...

If your confused if it is 'to' or 'too,' just spell both as tutu, the reader will know what you mean-mostly.

Camper6, one remote is for the TV. Another is for the DVD player. Another is for the surround sound receiver / amplifier. Another is for the VHS tape player / recorder (yes, we still have one). Another is for the Western Digital flash drive interface. There are also a few for devices we no longer have and a backup for the TV I ordered when the lettering and numbering on the original started to wear off, which has started to happen on the replacement as well (sigh). I suppose that covers more than 4 but you see where this is going. Don...

Yes I understand. I was surprised because I have cable.
My remote allows me to program some of the functions you mention from one remote. I still have a vhs as well. Rarely use it now as the cable PVR allows recording.
My second set needs the vhs because the cable box only works with high definition t.v. and it also needs a remote for the vhs.
