That this was a 'House of Horror' for the Turpin children, there is no doubt, but:
ABC National News today, presented the event as occurring in the immediate past: I listened to
hear the date of these events-it never came...
He then told the listening audience that there would be a two hour program on 20/20 tonight.


Diane Sawyer presented the events in this 'House of Horrors,' for two hours. on 20/20.
this event occurred in 2018!

As horrible as the event was, we need to be aware that we are being manipulated.
ABC's national anchor was voicing a commercial to build the audience.On The National News.

I smell book deals, made for TV movies...
It is a magnet for the unscrupulousness producers in the media-
The Turpin children, with their new found freedom. have little-to-no knowledge of exploiters:
they are sheep to the slaughter

Yes, ABC has continued to promote this on Good Morning America. They always promote their 20/20 stories. They did the same thing with Adele's interview with Barbara Walters. All about $$$.
 

Years ago I read that Martha Stewart and her people came up with this idea of hiding/disguising a commercial within the format/content of a television program.

Very similar to seeing name brand products used as props in television shows and movies.

Once you are aware of it you see it used in many different ways.
 
So it happened in 2018! I knew of it then and was glad to hear more in depth reporting. I liked the special Diane presented. I loved the Adele special also. I like the 20/20 stories. Its a reminder to me of how ugly life can be. Its no telling how much of this is happening and we don't know about it.
 
I don't know if the Turpin children are being exploited, but I'm sure they would have been compensated for their cooperation in the TV show, if they had input. And about the promotion of the TV program, why not? It is commercial TV. What happened to the children was a gross, disgusting occurrence, it's a lesson in what can happen.
