Beams of light bend when their path moves from one medium to a denser medium......like outer space to an atmosphere or from air to water....if its path from one medium to the other is at an angle rather than perpendicular. It's a function of light's speed being ever so slightly slowed down.....one can slow light down (a little bit) although one cannot speed it up. The effect is called refraction. A perpendicular transit also slows a light beam down but doesn't bend its path.
Beams of light are also bent by the effect of the gravitational pull of a massive object.....or the bending of space-time by said massive object. An example would be the path of light from distant stars being altered as it passes by other stars or planets or anything else with mass.

"You know how to disappear. We can teach you to become truly invisible." ― Henri Ducard/Ra's al Ghul to Bruce Wayne (The Dark Knight Trilogy/Batman Begins)

"It's amazing what you can do when you don't have to look at yourself in the mirror anymore." ― Sebastian Caine (Hollow Man)

"The power to render oneself unable to be seen. Technique of Light Manipulation. Not to be confused with Camouflage."

Found this thread. Glad it was bumped. Enjoyed all the posts.

The first thing I thought of when I read the title was the Monty Python sketch "How Not To Be Seen". :ROFLMAO:

Leprechauns can become invisible, but if you happen to see one, catch him quick and make him tell you where his Pot O' Coffee is hidden (they all have one...for some reason). If you take your eye off the Leprechaun for even a moment though, he'll vanish again and you'll almost certainly never find him.🍀
