The last time you danced with your darling or someone special.

This happened on the cruise we were on. We were married on the island of Santorini while on the cruise, and that night we were in the showroom when the MC invited us down for our first dance. My wife told him, you do not understand, this will be the first dance we have ever danced. :)

(I've put this on here before)
My late husband.
It was a three year drought in New Mexico. One afternoon it clouded up and rained.
I ran outside and danced around with my arms in the air, looking up to feel the rain on my face.
He looked out the window and saw me. He ran outside, grabbed me and we waltzed
all over the lawn, laughing and kissing, drenched.
THAT, was a dance!

I enjoy dancing the most memorable was when I took a friend to her first prom. She was pregnant and married her junior year of high school and had never been to prom night. During Hot August nights in Reno, among the classic cars and poodle skirts, we have a prom night. I wore a tux and bought her a corsage. From the moment I met her at the door, I tried to make her feel like she was the most beautiful and only girl in the room. She mentioned that night just a few weeks ago. She was 63 and that night was just 9 years ago.

The last time you danced with your darling or someone special.

One weekend, when we were shed the grandkids, we decided to go dancing
Found a busy, loud place
Mostly 20 to 30 somethings
Then us.....50 somethings plus
We hit the floor
Got the kinks out

Then a slow song came on

We got into a bit of a jive
I don't jive
I barely move
My lady was a dancer when I met her
Beyond limber

We got really into it
Closed eyes, feeling the music
Going with it
Dirty dancing......but old dirt

The song stopped
Heard clapping and cheering
Looked around
We were the only ones on the floor

Sometimes.....

ya gotta show the kids something

Huh. Didn't know there were men who even liked to dance.

My last husband used go to dances before we were together. Several years later, when we were married, we didn't go out much. One Christmas, I asked him if we could have a dance at home, that was all I wanted for Christmas.
Do you know, he never did give me that dance. The beginning of the end.
Do you know, I filed for divorce after 12 years. Some things you just don't get over.
