One of those and it's gone.
My thought exactly.One rogue wave.............................
I think that many of those who perished in the Titanic disaster, died from hypothermia rather than drowning. I wouldn't fancy either! Not for me either. Even though I'm a good swimmer, I'd be scared stupid of drowning Titanic-style... Both my grandparents lived through the times it happened.
These ships are way too big and too many things can go wrong. Too many people as well. Don't like crowds.
We had plans to try a Viking Cruise on the Blue Danube. Their ships are small, just two-three stories high and that river is quiet. Our plans at retirement age was Austria!
I'm not against cruises - but I don't think I would like this super-sized ship. Not for me either. Even though I'm a good swimmer, I'd be scared stupid of drowning Titanic-style... Both my grandparents lived through the times it happened.

I have read not-such-great reviews of Carnival Cruises.About a year & a half ago I thought I'd try a Carnival Cruise as I hadn't been on one in probably 20 years or so.
It was like being a part of a week long bar brawl lol. Never again
I really does make a huge difference which cruise line & which ship you travel on.
Yes they do, primarily in the spring, summer & early fall months when conditions are better. many Cruise Lines do a "repositioning" of their ships twice a year moving them from north to south in the fall anf south to north in the summer.Do cruise ships still sail the north Atlantic ?
That's why I heard they are scheduling cruises for the next 2 years. I guess they'll be a lot of lets' check out tourists. Return or growing business will determine it's success. Word of mouth is key.I thought people wouldn’t want to go on this monstrosity; seems I was wrong. Read some reviews on Cruise Critic and they sold out the 80% available for the first run. I suppose those that already love a large ship would be even happier on this. Not me.
Thanks for asking @Capt Lightning but sadly it didn't happen. The trip was planned for this year, 2024, as hubby would have been 66 this year. The official age of retirement.I think that many of those who perished in the Titanic disaster, died from hypothermia rather than drowning. I wouldn't fancy either!
You say you had plans. Did you ever make it to Austria and the Danube? I thoroughly recommend Vienna and you can take a boat trip down the Danube to Bratislava.
When we were in Germany before Christmas, we saw a surprising number of cruise ships, including Viking, on the Rhine.
That's a very big Love Boat.IMO just too damn big....they can carry 10k people...who wants
to be in a crowd like that....well guess a lot of peeps !!! LOL...
The treat the sewage on the ship; there is a system. Then they expel the treated wastewater into the ocean.I'm not impressed. Somebody told me we had a massive problem with global warming which will end our way of life. This new ship reminds me of that Titanic story where the band played on as the ship sank.
The manufacturers and the passengers on this beast are out of tune with today's world. I would never go on this ship. Imagine the garbage and the sewage! I wonder where they dump it?

Here, @jujube, just pretend you're sailing into the Port of Miami from Finland....I would LOVE to cruise on that ship. That's my cup of tea.
Ooooh, I'd like to imagine that, especially the part about getting on the boat in Finland! We sailed into Miami once after dark because of engine problems and it was so beautiful seeing all the lights from out at sea.
