The next time you go

Swimming in the ocean, you might want to keep your mouth shut. This splash of seawater, magnified 25 times, shows what is in the water. It is called plankton, and consists of crab larva, fish eggs, marine worms and more.
I'm thankful they didn't show our drinking water as gosh only knows what it would look like.

I wouldn't worry Pappy.
It seems that half our body mass is from cells that are not human.
We are walking colonies of organisms.

Can't vouch for these facts but I do know that our bodies aren't pristine. A few extra in the gut won't hurt us.

You're actually just a minority stakeholder in your own body. Believe it or not, more than 90 percent of the cells in your body are not actually yours but belong to foreign organisms. Even though our bodies have 10 trillion cells, our intestines alone have 10 times that many foreign cells. Not only do these cells outnumber us, but we cannot live without them; after all, it's the bacteria in your gut that help digest your food

Been soakin' myself from nose to toes in Our Mother Ocean since I was a baby and have experienced absolutely no ill effects.

You know, TG. I thought of you when I posted this.
And Warrigal, you are so right. There are thousands of organisms living in just our eye lashes alone. The science channel had a program showing all the organisms living on your body. Not even mentioning what goes on inside.

Dare I say, one of my favorite surf spots was named Sewer Peak because, long ago, the lines out to sea were broken and spewing there...
