I just thought this would be an interesting topic to post.

Lately I've been thinking that the older I get the more I understand----my mom.

I sure did not understand some of the things she said and did but as I find myself living much of the same kind of life she lived I am understanding her more.

So..how do you fill in this blank?

how life is short and to be appreciated before it's gone. Now that I'm older I try to cherish each day for the good things that happen and not dwell on the bad. I try to live in the moment and not regret things from the past or fear things that may happen in the future. Each day is a gift really, and best to be embraced with a positive attitude. ☮

Yes. We don't know what people are dealing with personally and much of the time it's hard

All such great answers here, but this one ^ does strike a chord with me as I get older.

I can only be myself and remain true to my vision even if it doesn't thrill anyone else.

This is a diffiuclt one for me . I'm a truuth hunter, so when people lie to me just for the sake of it, it hurts like a physical pain . I just cannot understand why people just can't tell the truth. ( I know, .. there are a few exceptions to that rule)...but overall, I just don't understand the need for liars to just BS their way through life...

Define "truth". Today's truth DOES NOT mean the same as it did when I was a kid.

Truth means the same to me as it did when I was a kid... its just in adult version. If I told my mom the truth about something I did, I got punished.. the same holds true in my adult life but the punishment is in a different form than when I was a kid. That's just my take on it.

I agree when liars BS their way through life... what a horrible life to live. As you stated, there a a few exceptions. If I feel you can handle the truth, you will get the truth....on the other hand if it will cause you a LOT of harm and pain...you will not hear the truth from me.
