The Possible Price of Scottish Independence

I'm very surprised that the YES vote only needs a simple majority to pass. I would have thought that it would have to be at least 2/3 for a decision of such consequence.

No......just over 50%.
i shall be glad when Thursday comes.....the result will be close...

If I were a scot I'd be most concerned. Independence is nice but I wouldn't vote - Yes. I am hereby predicting the No votes will prevail.

I agree! making it 50/50 seems wrong. Just want it to be over and done with. Hope the Scots realise there is no going back with this.

I personally think that an Independent Scotland would be good for them and for the rest of the UK, have to build the wall up again because they would'nt be part of a free EU and the money would be a problem, not to mention the benefits scenarios.......... all those things can be overcome........but I am not sure that the SNP and particularly Alex Salmond are the people to do it..............? he seems to being running on his own agenda?

I'm off to vote later this morning. I'm not against the principle of independence, but I oppose the vision that slimeball Alex Salmond has. He is just blundering on wildly saying "don't believe anyone else, everything will be OK on the night". It won't.

I think that the Scottish have a legitimate reason for independence - They have always had a seperate identity and culture and they want to govern themselves in the best way for Scotland - NOT what the UK parliament dictates. What suits London, does not suit Scotland.

BUT, I'll say again, my opinion is that what Salmond et al are offering is not the way to go.

One of the most historic days in the history of the Union...as a Scot unable to vote due to Alex the egotist's appalling decision to prevent Scots from voting who live elsewhere in the UK and the world..I pray that the Scottish realise what a mistake they will make by voting yes today...the implications of a YES vote will be hugely negatively far reaching IMO..
