Who doesn't love a good story. They seem to be woven into the fabric of society all over the globe, and have incredible staying power. It's as if they are some sort of cultural glue that binds people together. Whether it's Paul Bunyon, Lady Godiva, the Loch Ness Monster, or Big Foot, we simply can't resist integrating them into the story of who we are.
We enjoy traditions, myths, urban legends, and pretty much any form of storytelling, and the more grandiose, they better we like them, and they are as old as humanity itself. Festivals are often centered around these imaginative creations. Some of them may have originated in books and have taken on a life of their own, such as the legend of Sleepy Hollow, and many have even become movies.
Apparently, humans love to tickle the old imagination. Maybe with all of our differences, it's at least something we can share and even celebrate together. Perhaps it's even a release from some of the concerns of life, and infuses a bit of traditional comfort. What's a story you enjoyed and maybe any meaning you absorbed from it?
