The seasonal solstice begins

In Ohio, I've repeatedly had to switch between air conditioning and turning the furnace back on every couple of days. The summer is predicted to be hotter than normal. I'd be happy if the weather would show some consistency! But Happy Summer Solstice, everyone! Wishing you warm sun, cool breezes, and restful shade!

Summer began here, with a vengeance, about 2 weeks ago. We've had rather high temperatures and humidity for most of June. If AccuWeather is correct we are in for a long hot Summer....extending into mid/late September before we see any real moderation.

I agree. Others are posting daily temps of over 100 degrees. I have the furnace on. Two days ago, it was in the 90s.

I have a beautiful wide view of the sunset each evening. it's amazing just how far apart the actual points on the horizon where the sun disappears now and in December. Its at its furthest point to my right today and will turn back east this afternoon. Its easy to mark as it sets behind a very distant water tower from my best vantage point.
