The Seinfeld tv series

The final show was a huge disappointment. Newhart set the bar for great finales. Seinfeld's was a total flop.
Maybe with the show on the way out and never to return, the crew didn't think it was worth putting any thought into. Not all Seinfeld episodes were fantastic, but the lesser episodes failed to be as lifeless as the finale. The last episode was as much puzzling for me as it was a disappointment.

I loved that show!
"You know I always wanted to pretend to be an architect!".
Or perhaps a marine biologist...
"The sea was angry that day my friends. Like an old man trying to send back soup at the deli."
"Whales, what an amazing fish!"
I said, "easy big fella!"

Yeah, the finale was definitely a misfire. My guess is that Larry David and Seinfeld thought they were being clever, but it backfired.

I now like to think that last episode of Season 7 on Curb Your Enthusiasm is the "final" Seinfeld episode.
