The State of Utah has pretty much reopened

It is so odd. While it seemed like we never closed down much except restaurants for the most part, we are now open. As we drove past a restaurant that my husband really likes, I said, no. Don’t even think about eating inside anywhere. But people were coming out that had eaten inside.

I am going to get a hair cut for sure and want to do so as soon as possible before/in case stuff shuts down again.

I got a text today saying my son and everyone on the group home could get a free virus test. Would I allow the test? Nope. The test is not reliable, and he could not have it today and could get it tomorrow. What is the point? Unless it’s some kind of testing the test. Anyway, no.

Went to Costco, no line, no counting people, just go in get your stuff as usual, but you still need a mask. Back to normal is kind of strange.

What do you all think? Should we all open for business as usual?

My state has partially reopened, but not my part of it, which has a heavier infection rate. The whole area around DC does. The more rural areas don't have as much of it. I think this is true all over the country.

We will probably return to normal at different rates, staggered according to population.

I also went to target since I lost weight and need some new pants. The sign said-don’t touch the display, don‘t sit on the counter, and don’t try on the clothes. Aw, hmm, ok. Didn’t buy any pants. The new normal?

My home state has done quite well during the panic. We are slowly opening, for me I firmly believe that the steps they have taken. i.e. masks, social distancing, washing hands,,,etc have been working. Following common sense things is easy and I don't think it is an invasion of my rights, but that's just me. If you don't want to wear a mask I will respect your right not too. I dislike crowds anyway. Still getting used to the home delivery of my meals.

Wish I had home delivery of my meals, lol, but not until I’ve lost more weight. Still losing. Gluing a mask to my face if I have to, not catching the stupid virus.

I lived in Vienna for 40 years, now in Louisa County.

Virginia had 29,600 cases, population 8,500,000. Infection rate 1/3 of 1%.
Ffx County had 7,836 cases, population 1,150,500 Infection rate 2/3 of 1%.
Louisa County had 59 cases, population 36,000. Infection rate 1/6 of 1%.

So Fairfax County is double the state average while 100 miles away, Louis County is half of it, meaning Fairfax is 4x as infected as Louisa But the rates are still very low.

As I've said before, nearly 1/5 of the nation had Swine flu in 2009, giving Virginia 1,700,000 Swine Flu victims (compared to the less than 30,000 COVID.)

It’s not about what it is, it’s about what it could become.

I understand, but my point is that the swine flew actually was 55,000,000 infected in this country and there was no hysteria even when 1 in 6 of us had it.

Current infections of this virus are only 1,500,000 and people are literally fearing death if they open their front doors when only 1 in 200 have it because it "might get bad."

We all have the right to react as we choose.
I just hate to see people in such a state when reality does not seem to warrant it.
