The strange dance of perception and reality

There is a huge difference between factual reality and the reality we actually experience. The earth is spinning at about 1000 mph, and we are moving at about 67,000 miles per hour around the sun, not to mention how fast our solar system and galaxy are moving through space. But everything feels stable.

Likewise, our bodies consist entirely of atoms, which are 99.9999999% empty space (With the exception of energy and quantum fields), which would seem to make us energy beings, but our experiential existence tells a different story.

Objects don't really have color, they just reflect some of the light spectrum, but not others, so we see them as having color. Perception is so different from reality, and I won't even touch on quantum physics, which, as they say, "If it doesn't blow your mind, then you don't understand it".

Is most of our life just an illusion we dance with?

Do we even have free will, or is that an illusion too?

I can never get my head around all of that...my husband was always telling me this stuff, but to try and even imagine it is impossible.. and yet as we're thinking it..or typing it as I am now..I'm spinning around at 67,000 MPH....

Good questions bobcat. But colors, while it's true they are reflections of varying degrees, are still colors because everyone is perceiving them the same (unless you're color blind) and thus deserves a descriptive word for the sake of communication

Can people see the forest through the trees?

It depends whether you believe We and the entire Universe were created by a chaotic explosion or by an Intelligent Designer.
Only an Intelligent Designer makes sense to me as I look around and see intelligent design everywhere...including free will

Perception vs reality? Maybe I'm just a disembodied brain in a jar. And while we're on the subject.. what are all these pickled onions doing in here???

You getting into the wacky tobaccey again??

The interplay between free will and divine destiny creates a tapestry of experiences uniquely crafted for your soul's growth and evolution.
Cherish the precious gift of free will and embrace the responsibility that accompanies it.
Providence has granted each of you the profound ability to choose your own paths, make decisions and shape the course of your own lives.

Well, a chaotic explosion and an intelligent designer are not exclusive. Perhaps both could be true.

I guess what I was getting at is they aren't any color. A leaf just reflects green light (At least we interpret it that way), unless of course, it's Autumn.

Well, in that case, I think I'll choose a nap (Or is something choosing it for me?) Either way, I'm gonna take one.
