The Subject Least Interesting To Members Here

The planet appears to be going through a "warming" cycle...accelerated by human activity over the past several decades. The planet has warmed, and cooled, several times over the millions of years. The BIG problem today is the fact that there are billions of people, and thousands of major cities, etc., that are at risk.

Thousands of years ago, when the human population was a fraction of what it is today, and there were few things that could be called "infrastructure", any major changes in weather patterns could be easily handled by migrating North or South.

We don't have that "luxury" today.

Apathy never fixed anything. I understand it when it comes of the immensity of the pollution problem. I wonder if it more of "it's too late to do anything" or just apathy especially with larges parts of the world doing little or nothing about their problem. A thousand or more people missing in Germany and 125 confirmed dead in Germany now due to flooding. Is it due to climate change or just a freak rain? As far as recycling goes why are millions of plastic grocery bags handed out out every year in most states? Why can't I separate all of my plastics instead of only types 1 and 2 leaving types 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 going in to the regular trash? Living in a hurricane area I am more concerned about them intensifying with warmer temperatures. I don't have an electric vehicle because I live in a condominium and how will thee world recycle batteries the size of those in trucks and cars?

The OP is of course right, and just as suggested I'm as guilty as the next man or woman on this I admit.
Saying I'd do something to reduce plastic use etc., when responding to a thread on another forum about what someone might do were they king for a day isn't really enough is it, though I have no real answers, (who wants to live like the 50% plus of the world population whose impact on the planet is minimal because they are so poor?).

Ignoring human impact on climate science won't make it untrue, no more than denying gravity will prevent broken toes if you drop a heavy weight on them.

I never said humans had no impact. I said I believe we actually have very little influence on it.

I am ignoring nothing.

Not true, Victor. Global Warming and Climate Change has been a political debate for well over a decade. The Environmental Protection Agency was established about 15 years ago, and climatologists and related scientists have been receiving billions in gov't funding since then.

The E.P.A. ..... was actually established in 1970
