1967 was the official summer of love. Do you remember where you were or what you were doing? Did you do anything special to commemorate the summer of love? Did you enjoy enjoy that summer?

I remember spending my allowance on a pair of love beads and some Indian incense. I burned the incense in my bedroom while listening to acid rock and contemplating the world situation - Vietnam etc. I wove willow fronds into wreaths and added flowers and wore them in my hair like the grown up girls did. I played baseball almost everyday with my friends and put what felt like 1,000 miles on my bicycle.

I did enjoy the summer of love. Did you?

Yes, I got engaged in 1967 and married the following year, so it was a summer of love for me. :love_heart:

1967, I gave birth to my eldest son.

I was still at home, a burgeoning hippie, full of idealism, music, eastern spiritualism, etc. Many evenings spent on the beach singing and playing guitars around bonfires, unknown to my mother who thought I was in bed asleep. Awesome summer.

Summer of 1967..I was just getting ready to leave primary school..and start senior school in the September , I remember my granny buying my sister and I our first pair of bell-bottoms in Navy Blue...LOL..no flower power there..!! :D By 1969 I'd fledged into a fully attired hippy chick.. complete with waist length hair, hairband , bells and maxi dresses....but only after school and at weekends.. :hatlaugh:

Got engaged in May 1967 and was married in October 1967... You fill in the blanks... But before you get too imaginative.. My son was born in December of 1969.

'67 I was 31 and didn't have a single ache or pain. No hippie for me, I had a wife, a job, mortgage, dog and a six pack of beer in the fridge.

I was in high school and into daisies. Daisy rings, daisy earrings, daisy pins, daisies in my hair, not all at once. I met my first love, true love. Road trips to Rehoboth beach that summer. Boardwalks. Beatles, Mamas and Papas, Peter,Paul, and Mary…happy and carefree.
