The Ugly unfair Truth about looking Beautiful.

I like to wear nice in style clothing... have my hair fixed, makeup on, nails groomed... but I do it for ME.. If a man enjoys looking, then that's good too. I like to look at well groomed nicely dressed men too.. lol!!

Just didn't want to see this boil down to what I've seen happen so many times in threads of this nature to a us versus them in the me being natural makes me better, no me wearing this or that makes me better a more confident person because of blah, blah, blah. Sometimes we end up in a cat fight when there should be none. We get defensive about my way being better than someone else's way. That's all, I've been on quite a few of these types of chats in and that exactly how it deteriorates to.

Some makeup, no makeup, a little, who sets the bar, like some of you said, it is best left to ones own comfort level, but some will try their best to emphasize that because someone puts on a little mascara or lipstick or whatever this is masking the wearers insecurities when sometimes it's the other way around or even jealousies motivating others remarks when the bashing either way starts to happen. I only take issue when others start trying to set the rules for others by saying because someone else wears or doesn't wear this or that, they lack confidence, I've seen it work both ways is all and the cattiness that this route evokes is worse than what the beauty industry or other sources have done period. Choice is a good thing finding a balance that works for each of us is good respecting each others right to make different choices, lifting each other instead of tearing each other down even better.

I've seen a few of those cat fights myself!

There's one in our park who is still into the stillettos, Daisy Dukes, hair done in a beaded French Twist style....kinda funny how the different sexes react when she walks her 3 dogs.....the gals all whisper "age appropriate" and the guys ogle till she turns around and they see a 60 something year old woman.

As for me, I like nice casual clothes, nice haircuts and like sending Maybelline a little cash now and then.

I'm with you Lee;) Never was good at accessorizing, or flashy, admired the gals that were. Kind of a country-bumpkin, boots and jeans;)

I feel sad for that lady, but at the same time, if she is happy doing that I wouldn't take it away from her. People can be cruel making fun. I laugh at the walmart photos, sometimes gasp, so I am just as bad.

I've chuckled at those Walmart photos as well, but the thing is, I'm almost certain, those are made up, I've never seen anyone dressed as those people are, it seems to me those photos are just made up for humor. At least I hope, but if not, if they are happy with the look, I'm happy for them. I'm sure I've been laughed at a time or two, when I turned around and some youngin found out I wasn't the age they assumed. LOL. But you won't be seeing me with my butt hanging below my skirt or shorts, boobage spill sure but that's as far as I've gone, sometimes I just can't hide the puppies no matter how much I try.

Well I missed one bus, let me get to stepping before I miss another, you ladies and gents have a good one, stay away from the daisy dukes.

Denise.....I never laughed behind the lady's back but she was quite well aware of the cattiness.

You will love this.....She asked me and I suggested if she wanted to fit in she might be a little more casual. It is a mobile home community after all not downtown New York.

She took my advice..... She bought a canary yellow pair of flip flops, proudly pointed them out to me and asked if that was casual enough. It was. But I just noticed today she is out walking in stilletto winter boots, sheesh I never knew they made such a thing.

No, you're not the type to laugh at someone or be catty, I can see that about you Lee;) I think that was neat what you did because lots of people just need a little guidance/help. Very kind, but my guess is she is going to go her own way. I'll bet she is a real sweetheart, most people wouldn't even listen to your offer to help;)

Now that lady is pushing it. LOL. I admit, I don't dress like most in the area, some say, I'm not casual enough and yes, I'm originally from NY, but, believe me, my attire is quite casual, I just don't particularly care to wear peddle pushers on a daily basis.

Ok that's it, why do things get really interesting and fun when I need to sign off. Bye for now.
