Years ago I read a sci fi story of the hard learned ability to build a passenger space ship that would take many earthlings to a newly discovered earth-like planet to live. The trip took many years. On the way, a earth space ship passed them “in a flash” to the same planet. When they finally reached the planet, they were greeted by their grown children whom had traveled on highly advanced ships built in the years after they left.
The multiple variables in every faction of life (on Earth), imo, make it impossible to be accurate in how it will be in the future.
