The World is getting crazier every day

Of all the crazy things happening in the world today, this isn't the craziest but annoying. On our TV remote you can just press a button and say what you are looking for, and we use it a lot without ever having a problem. The other night I missed seeing a show I thought I would enjoy. So the next day My Husband tried to see if we could watch it. He presses the button and asked for "The Dick Van Dyke Show." It responded by saying "We do not accept that kind of Language". He tried it a few times and the same response. Now I know a lot of times if you type it on the computer it can get covered up and I understand that, but I can't understand when we say it on the tv and no one else can see it, why is it blocked.

First thing I'd try would be a different set of words. "Fox News" or "ABC Sports", etc. We often speak to the set and get a different set of words and have to repeat. Never had a "bad language" response tough???

That's the same with me. I never got a bad language response before. I have gotten "We did not understand that, try again" But never Bad language.

Political correctness is destroying our enjoyment of life, in many ways. Everyone is so nervous about offending others that so much is simply not undertaken. Comedians, politicians, those desirous of finding a date/mate, all have to walk on eggshells. I'm glad I can stay apart from the world, today, for the most part.

Try typing Richard van Dyke-or is it Dyke it objects to?Wonder how it would respond to a cooking show making Spotted DicK...

Most guys wouldn't want to include "shorten" and "Dick" in the same sentence. Then, again, saying, "Many guys named Richard, go by Dick," would sound all wrong!

Reminds me of a poster I made in another life

To get around that particular program selection censor
you might try ‘the Van Dyke show’
