There is no place to go, and nothing to do

Unless I receive a pkg in the mail, I'm usually donning just a tee with underwear. LOL! I never open the blinds anyway so, it's not like anyone will see. If someone can manage a peep between the venetians then they deserve to have their retinas burst into flames. :ROFLMAO:

The only time I leave the house is for work or to pick up groceries in the parking lot. I have a 3XL tee that is my fave night shirt. It needs to be washed. Before menopause I used to favor a Betty Boop sweatshirt. Too warm for that anymore.

PS-I'm not sorry for "slobbing" around the house on the days I'm not busy being essential.

It’s not like someone is going to drop by. 😂. Saves on laundry. More comfortable. My flannel and sweatpants keep me nice and warm so less heat used. Do you dress, or stay comfortably informal.

Even though I am staying at home more than ever before, I still put on leggings and a long shirt. If I'm going to see one of my trillion doctors ~ I wear more decent clothes. In fact, one doctor asked why I was so dressed up. I didn't think I was; silly doctor. I wore a nice blouse, black pants and black flats. What's so dressed up about that. Now, when I go see her ... I dress down. Don't even wear earrings. LOL! She has made me paranoid!

He's probably used to seeing the rest of us schmucks that are clad in t-shirts & leggings. LOL
 
I don't judge anyone's wardrobe; in fact I couldn't care less what other people wear. As for me, I like to get up and get dressed every day unless I'm sick. I like comfortable clothes for hanging around the house; usually shorts and t-shirts in summer.

My mother never owned loungewear; she'd likely be wearing bermuda shorts or pedal-pushers with a matching top, red lipstick, nail polish, and a cigarette.

You're getting to see doctors!! Up here, they call their patients to cancel and the best you can get is a virtual appt which is useless. Ditto the dentist except no virtual appts with them. :confused:
 
It's very strange, I've been seeing doctors off and on. One month they decide they can see you in the office and the next month, they do a telephone thingy. Last week I had a teleconference with the family doctor and yesterday, the same thing with the Endocrinologist. The Surgeon's office cancelled my appointment last week.

That's how it is here too.. although I've seen my gyny 3 times in person during the last 2 months , and once by Zoom....and only needed to speak to my primary doctor once and we did that on the phone..

(incidentally , lovin' the new avatar Pamela.. :D )
 
Almost everything has re-opened here..latest things to re-open have been Pubs, restaurants, Cafes, Museums, Art Galleries, Beauty Salons and hair salons etc.. which all opened 10 days ago... Bowling alleys, Theatres, Indoor Cinemas (replaced by drive-ins which are now open) and Nightclubs however, remain closed.. ..everything else is opened albeit many places like pubs and restaurants have reduced opening times, and menus
 
Getting back to the original topic of no place to go, nothing to do: Even though a lot of Los Angeles businesses have been shuttered during the recent virus spike, I find plenty to do. After coffee and a small snack - maybe half a banana each - Hubby and I take the dog for an hour walk through the neighborhood. During breakfast we figure out our agenda for the day.

Even when no errands are planned, we still find plenty to keep us busy. Homes require a fair amount of upkeep. He putters in the garage and yard. I may wash a floor or two, deep clean the bathrooms, spend time on the computer, reorganize a closet, whatever. The time slides by.

I zoom at least once a week with friends, usually see one or two of our kids (and their families) for a short visit weekly - all of us socially distanced and masked. I typically read for a couple of hours each afternoon and watch TV from about 7:00 - 10:30. Then I head for bed and read until I get sleepy.

This hasn't been the most fun, interesting season of my life, but I've suffered through far more miserable stretches.

I’m going & doing, with masks, social distancing & either my 2 or 4 wheeled walker, leaving shortly to use some machines at a PT gym where they have everything sanitized and distanced. I’ve been to the library, several stores, PO, on walks , all the while taking precautions..
 
Some days I go for a drive just out get out. I have not gone to any stores/businesses except grocery and occasionally Walgreens. As far a dressing who cares how one dresses if they are going to spend the day in the house? Name me the dress code they are violating.
 
I golf, swim, bicycle, walk and play piano. My wife and I take online bridge lessons and play in online mini-tournaments. I read a lot, post too much on SF, and I still work from home about half time. Lately we have begun limited socializing, either in our back garden or at one outdoor venue which seems to have its act together.

I kind of enjoy it (I don't mean to sound callous because it's an awful thing) although I miss bookstores and the library (they are open again but not much fun given masks etc.) and going to the gym (tried once post-reopening and no fun at all).

I do it for me. I'm worth more than other people's opinions of me and the only time I don't get madeup and dressed is if I'm sick so that would send my brain an image I don't want to send. :giggle:
 
We took our chances last week and went to the casino's in Kansas City for a couple of days. Those places may be the "safest" venues out there at this time. There was a hand sanitizer station at the entrance, and no one was allowed in without using it, and wearing a mask....if they didn't have a mask, the casino had a big stack at the entrance. Every other slot was shut down, and the table games had limited seating. There were several employees going around cleaning the slots, etc., every time someone moved on. We felt "safer" there, than any other public place we've been to in recent weeks.

The "downside" was it appeared that the slot machines were "tightened", and we saw no real winners while there....probably so the casino can make enough money to pay for the extra employees scurrying around keeping everything clean. We donated our "fair share", but it was just kind of nice to get back to one of our favorite pastimes.
 
A friend actually asked me (over the phone) if I still bother showering every day! She said she doesn't. I was kind of shocked, as she is normally a well-dressed, immaculate looking woman. I think maybe this is a sign of depression.

I certainly don't bother getting dressed in my best finery, but I do at least shower and put on clean clothes, every day. (Mostly t-shirts and shorts these days.)
