There was a promotion on a block of chocolate, so I bought that brand

A little off topic, but has anyone tried Dubai Chocolate? We first tried it in ice cream last year when we were in Dubrovnik. Then I saw it in a little block in the grocery store. It was ridiculously expensive and I rarely eat sweets, but it was mouth-watering!

Dubai chocolate (Arabic: شوكولاتة دبي, romanized: shūkūlātat Dubayy) is a style of chocolate bar filled with kadayif (chopped filo pastry) and a pistachio-tahini cream.

It was created in 2021 by Nouel Catis Omamalin, a Filipino chef, and Sarah Hamouda, a British and Egyptian engineer, after she asked him to prepare a chocolate recipe similar to the sweet dish her mother used to make during her childhood.[1] Hamouda and her husband are the co-owners of Fix Dessert Chocolatier,[2] a chocolatier in Dubai.[3]

I've seen that in a local grocery store.. you're saying it was good?
I've thought of buying one, but wasn't sure what it would be like.

Well I found out the hard way that there is such a thing as too much chocolate. Grandson was selling chocolate covered almonds for his cadet group and I went a little overboard. Groan......where is that bicarbonate. Funny thing is that I hardly ever eat chocolate - oh well, live and learn.
When I was in high school (many moons ago) our choir sold Worlds Finest Chocolate. I came in second after selling a zillion cases to family and friends. What did I win for coming in second place? A case of worlds Finest Chocolate! That's the last thing I wanted to see or eat!

Wait....you passed up your chance to get $1,000 by not getting your receipt?!! Yeah, I know...you weren't likely to win anyway. :cautious: But was the chocolate good, at least?

@seadoug If I remember correctly, my oldest grandson mentioned Dubai chocolate twice during our conversation last week. A friend of his bought some and he had a Dubai chocolate cake dessert at a restaurant. I'll have to ask him again. I'd never heard of Dubai chocolate before that.

They were the major suppliers to schools back in the day. My sister in law lived in Campbellford, home to WFC. I always asked her to pick me up a bag of chocolate almonds when I would visit.
My daughter owns 5 acres of Almond orchard... you'd be in heaven in Spain where almonds are the biggest selling nuts. They sell on every street corner.. and in every dish...
