There's a new "Fluff Butt" in town!

All of our cats start out as outdoor cats. As they get older and (hopefully) learn what is or is not acceptable behavior, they eventually earn the privilege of coming into the house.

Some of our cats were quick learners, others were not. But eventually, all of them became indoor/outdoor kitties.
 
Sorry @Georgiagranny Goob didn't fluff out much. His hair isn't really long enough. However, I did get this picture of him visiting Caw, in the Fairy Garden.....

A few weeks ago, I was showing Goober's picture to someone, and they saw something that I had never noticed. If you look at his nose, and the markings on either side of it....Goober has an Angel on his face!

I'm a cat person, but ain't no way I'm going through the kitten stage again.
 
While out with my Mom yesterday, we bought him a new basket to sleep in. I have plenty of bigger baskets, but this one is just his size!

As long as I'm on the subject, let me tell you what HE did to me, yesterday....
First of all, he was running around in the wet grass. Well, with all of the rain we've had (6 inches, total), of course everything is wet in the morning. Since he likes water, he doesn't even notice. But then, he went digging in the dirt. He came back completely covered in MUD, from his sides down. His legs were black with a gooy mess....and he wanted to "play punch" with me!!!! He was such a filthy mess, I couldn't help but laugh at him!

There is a plant that grows in abundance by me. We used to have fields of it all around our house. As luck would have it, It turns out that this plant is a huge allergy trigger for me! When I found out that I was allergic to it, Dio did a wonderful job of getting rid of almost all of it. Since I live in the woods, it will never be completely completely gone, but it is under control.

This plant is very invasive, and I have to keep pulling the baby plants out of the Fairy Garden so that they don't take over. The name of this plant is Perilla Mint. This is what it looks like.....

is getting older, every evening he has been helping me weed the garden. Funny thing is, he starts acting goofy! So I went online, and look what I found....

Wild catnip! Boy do those two plants look similar!!! If I'm around too much Perilla Mint, I get all stuffed up and can't breathe. If

is helping me in the garden, well......he has a different reaction.





So now I'm wondering.....
Does anyone know of a good Rehab Center that I can get him into?

I think all Mint is very invasive. I did once plant Catnip for my cats at the edge of a small wooded area at the back of the lawn. It did spread, but more into a lightly bushy area, thankfully.

Cats loved it! Pounce, race, roll around, etc. My Cocker Spaniel would sit there with my two cats and tilt her head: "What IS it they are enjoying so much?"

She would try smelling and then eating some nip, then walk away disappointed and disgusted, while the two cats rolled on the grass, laughing at her. Doggie gave up shortly.

Mint is very invasive. I grew all kinds of mint in our backyard too as well as catnip and our cat LOVED it.
 
Goober and I had a great time together yesterday evening! I went out early so we could spend some quality time together (and maybe relieve my guilt at leaving him alone all day today.

) He had a blast!!

As I was cutting branches away from the trail, I didn't need my hat anymore, so I left it on the trail. Next time I looked, there was

, tossing my hat in the air and "killing" it!!! I tried to explain to him that it was not a kitty toy, but when I went to take it from him, he grabbed it and started running off with it!!!! 😮 I knew that if I ever wanted to see that hat again I would have to NOT chase him.

Eventually he lost interest in my hat and started exploring in the deep growth where I was trimming. After a while, he came out with a mouse to play with!! The mouse kept him occupied for the rest of the evening, until I dragged him off to have his dinner and go to bed. It was a perfect afternoon in the life of a cat! (not so much for the mouse!) 😀
