These are the drink machines in our McD's. They're touch screen .... there's about 5 different screens with all sorts of combinations , Get a kid in front of you .... and you might as well go home. View attachment 50168
If I ever come across an ordering kiosk, I will enter a HUGE order, of all special order burgers (like triple mustard, so they can't be given to other customers), get my ticket, go to the rest room and then go to another restaurant.
I'm going to interface with a human or I'm not giving them my business. Sonic is another one that insists you talk to the little metal box. Been there ONCE, that was enough for me. Wally World (Walmart) has installed a ton of self checkout stations at our local store, I-won't-use-them. Want my money, provide a human to take it. Kiosks may be the future but they'll just have to put up with this old phart for a few more years. The millennials can Kiosk away. I LOVE Mickey D's fish filet, but one just isn't quite enough. For a while, they had a promotion offering a double fish filet, it was perfect but it was for a limited time (sigh), so I order 2, take the fish from one, add it to the other and voila, I have my double.
How is a receipt "surveyed"? If it's a code # (which is how Burger King did it), please share the code.We stop by a McD whenever we are out, for a cup of their excellent coffee. The receipt offers a Buy one, get one free on either a Egg McMuffin or Quarter Pounder on the next visit, after filling out a short online survey. I keep a "surveyed" receipt in the car, and often have one of their Egg McMuffins to go along with the coffee...
The employees would not be hurt. They would be doing work they are paid to do, paid by the managers of the 'store'. The managers reduction in profit would be reflected in their 'franchise fees' paid to the corp. When franchise fees drop noticeably, the corp will look at it's recent changes, and who came up with the idea(s).Understandable, but the people who would be hurt would be the minimum wage employees in the restaurant, not the high salary corporate execs who made the decision to change things.
If I understand how these kiosks work, you have to pay for your order at the kiosk with debit or credit card, or go to the counter if you are paying cash. So the problem with your devious plan is that you'd still have to pay for the stuff you ordered. If I ever come across an ordering kiosk, I will enter a HUGE order, of all special order burgers (like triple mustard, so they can't be given to other customers), get my ticket, go to the rest room and then go to another restaurant.
