I was at Penny's, when I met a fellow geezer. He was complaining that there were no shirts with chest pockets That's where we used to carry our smokes. And he was right; I could not find a shirt that had pockets.

I think for the reason most men used them for in the 1st place, so they have no place to carry them now.

I suppose it's what kind of shirt is needed. Since retiring casual is all I need. Some T-shirts in a variety of colors with a pocket works for me.

Sounds more like blouses to me, and I want no part of it. This better be wrong. I carry reading glasses in my pocket. I cannot put those in pant pockets without them getting bent or broken. Sometimes I carry a pen in my shirt pocket. Where are men supposed to carry things? Are pant pockets the next to go?

The stores that cater to a younger clientele don't have shirt pockets, because it's much more slim looking without them. Those stores only carry skinny jeans, pants.

Yes, I've seen several who must be wearing skinny jeans and pants that need to be wearing 2 sizes larger.

Probably designed by the same crowd that decided that women's pants don't need pockets. I've bought a few like that, and promised myself never again, I don't care how stylish they are. I am forced to carry a purse or something of the kind, or else juggle my wallet, phone, keys, etc. in jy bare hands all the time.

Men's shirts with pocket are readily available on knits and cotton button down shirts if you want them. I frequently need to carry a pen/ pencil with me that I carry in my shirt pocket. I have a cross pencil that I usually carry. Just go online and order them...

I can't believe that men are contacting manufacturers to request no pockets, but I can well imagine that manufacturers like the idea, since they could make shirts without pockets for less money, while still upping the price.

I have some similar ones myself.

Such pockets i n running attire are very useful if you want to listen to music while you are running.

Maybe for travelling when you need your phone but don't want it in your jeans pocket to be pickpocketed ??

I order most of my button-down shirts from Untuckit because they are designed to be worn outside rather than tucked in. Most have chest pockets.
