Things that can’t be explained.

We had a few minutes of time to kill before we could clock out at work so about 5 of us were discussing things that we had experienced that couldn’t be explained.
Really surprising how each of us had some kind of experience. Something we had seen or heard that we couldn’t explain.
Then it was this shy guys turn to tell about his experience and he said he had a flying saucer detector when he was a kid down south.
That really sparked our interest and although you could tell he really didn’t want to tell us all about it we pried it out of him question by question.
He said that he had ordered the flying saucer detector out of the back of a comic book.
“How does a flying saucer detector work.”
Well he started off in his shy way it has a metal band that was hanging down from a tripod and had a ball hanging down in middle of it.
It has an alarm that goes off when the ball makes contact with the inside of the band.
Works on the principal that the magnetic field of a flying saucer would pull the ball to the side where it makes contact with the band and that sets off the alarm.
“Well did you ever try it?”
He really had us hooked by now and he knew that he had to finish the story no matter how painful it was for him.
“Yeah he said! I sat it up on the front porch one night and the darned old hounds ran into it and knocked it over and it made such a racket that my Mom wouldn’t let me use it any more!”
You could tell that he felt a relief when we all laughed because he knew we were laughing with him and not at him.
He was a little backwards and shy but we all liked him because he was a great guy.
Can’t you just see the dogs knocking the UFO detector over in the middle of the night and waking everybody up?

A smoking meteor landing in a field about 100 yards to the left of me on a Tractor pulling a load of Tomatoes.
I didn't have the Detector, so I just kept going with the Wagon load of Tomatoes stacked in Baskets. It was smoking
and making puffing sounds before hit the ground. The soft earth sort of muffles everything after that. The smoking
trail was noticeable for a moment or so. I figured it was too hot to stop and go pickup from its hole. Trespassing
didn't enter my thoughts. I just thought, oh!

My Brother and I were walking about a mile home from uptown when we saw what looked like an airplane catching fire and crashing somewhere across the river.
Hard to tell how far away it was were it hit.
Turned out to be a meteorite that crashed into someone’s back yard in Kansas.
A few hundred miles away.
The main thing I can remember about it was how it changed color on the way down.
Like red-orange- to silverish white color.
Very pretty colors.

This never happened to me, but our father was a great storyteller, and he used to talk about things that happened when he was a young man in his days in India. He said a mate and he were walking after dinner and when they got to a certain part of the forest, they felt something was not quite right. They decided to take the left track back to their dormitory. The next morning some of the apprentices were talking about a tiger that attacked a lone walker at the exact place they had walked the night before. They couldn't explain why they changed direction. I thought it was a bit spooky.

Sitting reading a book on psychics, and believing I could contact the dead if I followed the Psychics' instruction..I tried to contact my long dead mother.

I was in a silent room, alone, at night, with just the lamp shining. There was a cylinder hoover sitting in the corner of the room in this position

where it had been left earlier.. and as I asked over and over again for a sign my mother was with me... the Vac flipped over...

I nearly jumped out of my skin with fright.. I clearly wasn't ready to hear from my mum or any ghosts.... and I shouted for it to stop...and nothing else happened...

I still can't explain it to this day !

Walking in the empty parking lot I looked up at the cloudy sky and screamed to my husband "Are you there, please give me a sign!" Walking a few more feet I crossed a street which had a lawn separating east/west traffic. While waiting on the lawn to fully cross the street I looked to my right and saw something on the grass in a familiar shade of blue. Curious, I went to it. A Book of Matches.

My husband used these same matches from this same store. The nearest of this store was 240! miles away. The grass was damp from rain. The matches were dry. Did the sky open up and deliver these matches for me to find them?????????? Where did they come from, why were they dry when it had recently rained? Did a car drive by and the driver threw them out his/her window?

What happened?

A woman I had a brief but stormy affair with reported a dream she had about me when I was having the same dream at home in my own bed on the same night. OK, it wasn't a sex dream. We were riding around in an old Jeep in a large field. She described it as riding around exploring the back forty, while for me it was just a big field. Other than that, the details were identical. I can't explain that.

Background
My wife was raised by her unmarried aunt, her mother died during childbirth. We were married about 2 months when I had a dream about the man her aunt was seeing. This man Papi Antonio died long before I met & we married.

I described him perfectly to my wife, even to the point of him sitting by the door in his favorite chair. Point is I never saw him, never saw a picture of him.

A good friend of mine told me the story that happened she was about 10. She had been in a parade and when that was over, she set out to walk across a field to her grandmother's house. When she got there, her mother, grandmother and police were there. She wondered what was going on. Turns out she was missing for hours and they had been searching for her. To her, the time passed was only what it took for her to cross the field, so she was astonished.

She could not give an account of what happened or where she was. To this day, she refused to discuss anything that has to do with UFOs. I had brought that subject up because missing time has been associated with abductions. When I brought it up another time years later to relate someone else's story, she didn't want to engage.

Did her Grandmother know she was in a parade?

Why do you ask ? She told me this story several years ago and it came to my mind today that she may have said she was at a parade not in a parade.
If Gandma didn't know she was going to be in (or at) some kind of function that would take 4 hours, it wouldn't be out of the question to think that she might have got in some kind of trouble and needed to be found. It sounded like the little girl may not have blacked out or been abducted by aliens, or whatever, but that an adult who was not properly informed could have caused the girl to think she been in a timeless state for part of the time.

I am sure that what she told you really did happen and that she couldn’t explain the missing time. I got the idea that the time was lost while she was on her way home after a parade and I don’t see what difference it makes as to whether she was in it or was watching it.

My wife and I go to Florida a lot, but most trips are short from a few days to a few weeks. We have a camera in the basement pointed at our gas water heater. Even though we turn the water off each time we are being gone for more than a day, we keep an eye on the water heater in case it breaks and spews water out. We have some things that are valuable to us, so we try to keep them safe. We learned this from our last home that burned to the ground.

On one of our video cards, we captured a picture of a white translucent figure that was kind of shapeless appear. We call it our lone spirit. Other strange things have happened in this home. For example, we had a door slam a few times for no reason. We don’t open the windows, so it wasn’t the wind. We also woke up one night and the bathtub water was running between the Jack & Jill bedrooms for no reason. We had no overnight guests that evening. And once we were watching tv in the den and we heard someone walking upstairs. The sound stopped for about a half minute and then started again for at least a minute.

We don’t tell anyone because we don’t want people to think we’re nuts, but it’s all true.

You lost me Dave! She lived with her mother but headed to her grandmother's house after the parade. That's why her mother and the police were at grandma's, where she was supposed to be. I'm sure she must have told her mother that she'd be going over there after the parade. Back then, we had a healthy respect (and fear) of our parents. I seriously doubt her getting into mischief was the cause at all.

As far as your sentence that I bolded, how would an uninformed adult cause her to think she's been in a "timeless state"? Her grandmother and mother must've told the officer when she should have been at the house. Since my friend and I talk about all kinds of crazy stuff, I have no doubt that if she had gotten into mischief, at our ages, she would have no qualms telling me about it.

I didn't even cross my mind that she was into mischief. Maybe she blacked out in the field and didn't realize it. I guess the point is then is that it was unexplained.
