Things that used to cost a lot . . .

I wish I could put “cars” on this list! Even worse, trucks!
Yeah, cars are not cheap. But I was going to add it to the list. I bought a Honda, then ten years later I bought a Hyundai. These were both just basic sedans. But I got a lot more electronics, milage, less headaches and more drivability in the newer cars, for about relatively the same price (with inflation.) I agree you aren't going to buy one with a dollar and get change back, but I think you're getting a better car for about the same price.

The news today says The Donalds Tariffs will push Waldo's prices up next year.
I drove thru a GM Dealership lot, hundreds of used Silverado's just a sitting for months there.
Only one Tacoma on the huge lot. No Chyeanne's or other small trucks. $40,000 + for trucks
with 70,000 + miles on them. I noticed last year the number of Auto's were increasing on the I-state &
SUV's decreasing in number counted per mile or so. The year before I seldom saw an auto compared
to Suv's and pickups. Most of the miles I drive are on I-State highways.

I did love a good fountain pen but can't justify one now.
Even the cheap ones are good. If you buy a pen that isn't good, you bought a pen that was damaged.

Not many people need an excellent pen. The president is one, off the top of my head. We buy them for him/her, and a lot of them are only used once. They should be required to mail them to random citizens afterward.

Calculators.. I bought my dad a Texas Instruments calculator way back in the seventies as a Christmas gift and it cost $200.

In The Old Days, One had arrived if they could afford even a small toolbox of Snap-On or Craftsman tools. I don’t know if that is true in today’s world, but I do know quality tools are much less like,y to break in the middle of a project.

I wanted a Montblanc for a long time.

cheap tools now seem to be quite substantial. I have a barn full of Expensive tools such as Snap-on , stanley , Bosch, etc.. and also a lot of tools from Aldi, and the £ store... they all seem strong and stand up to the job. In fact one electric scredriver from I believe Aldi .. came with a case full of Bits.. and has performed better than the Back & decker one I have
