Things That Women Do Better Than Men

Obviously there are many things but just this morning as I struggled to fold a fitted sheet I remembered that this little chore is one of them. I have been shown several times but still haven't got the hang of it I just crumble it up and place it under my very neatly folded top sheet.;)

It's not that women (inherently) do them "better", it's just that we do them. Some things take practice! I have been practicing crumbling up fitted sheets into a ball all my life.

I have never been any good at this either. They look a little bit better than if I had just wadded them up but not much. I will have to practice with these videos!

It's also easier if you have someone to help you which I don't. My sheets are Queen size and even the flat sheets are hard for me to fold.

Well, I’m with you Lon, re: fitted sheets. But sometimes I go to laundromat to use one of their large institutional size washers/dryers, and I remember one woman showed me how to fold fitted sheets really neatly. Some trick sticking pointed fingers in the corners. She said she learned in the military. I was better for awhile but then went back to just wadding and hiding under my other sheet.

Lol, I can't do that either!

back to sheets...what works the best for me is....I take them off the bed, wash them, then put them back. Don't have to worry unless I decide to switch sheets.

My late wife even folded my socks and jockey shorts. I just wad 'em up and stuff 'em in the drawer.

Sheets? I sleep in a twin bed with fitted sheets...not a big problem. She was a meticulous housekeeper but I'm not. I am not a slob either, but I think she was OCD. I do keep my toilets sparkling, that is my big hangup.

Haha-I was taught by Mrs. Gallagher 50 years ago in Home Ec.-and I still struggle with it. Even when Wes helps we end up hiding it under the other sheet lol. But I`m positive that Mrs. Gallagher never struggled with them. She was perfect,always...;)

Wow, my fitted sheet looks like four children jumped on it, not dirty, just crumpled. I am not OCD, but my toilet sparkles also, kindred spirits yet again, Louis. Cue weird music. Lol. A friendship cemented by toilets, who knew?? HaHaHaHa!!

LOL!!!! Lynn, if I hadn't known better, I would have thought I had put your post on here. More times than not, I will do like you do and that is take the sheets off the bed, throw them in the washer & dryer and then put them back on the bed. That's the easy way and we don't have to worry about folding the fitted sheets. :)

exactly...are we the only ones to think of that? Lol

I don't see the need to fold fitted sheets or any sheets to perfection - I just do it fast and put them away and forget about it. Life's too short for that stuff. I keep my place clean and tidy enough, but prefer to get with the real program which is to have some fun!

Martha Stewart has a video just for folding fitted sheets. At the end she says she actually just washes them and puts them back on the bed, too.
So you have good company. :) My problem is my washer is too small to do both queensize sheets in the same load. So it takes a long time
to get them both washed, and dried.

By and large, I think we are less reactive than men, definitely slower to violence. I believe we are often better at compartmentalising things. Don't get me started on nurturing. Lol. I think we tend to be practical and emotionally mature. Just the opinion of this mermaid therapist. Men are the true romantics. Lol. Also, sorry guys, I think we are usually less self absorbed.

Agreed, Angel. We accept the vulnerability and flexibility that comes with being emotionally accessible with less trepidation than do many guys. This manifests in a reduced need for control, which reeeely benefits our relationships with others. Fear is always the enemy of intimacy. Quarter for the therapist, please. Lol.
