Things to do with older friends

I'm retired and 63, I just recently started hanging out with former co-workers who are in their 80's. Now anything I suggest they don't want to do. I am taking into consideration their age, so I asked them what they want to do, I found what they wanted to do, then they come up with excuses every time. I always drive them cause they don't like driving far or at night. I'm at a loss with what to do with them? I've been open minded with their suggestions? Don't want to lose the relationships, any suggestions?

The same thing has happened to me only the couple I know happen to be the same age as me. This makes it even harder to understand. I guess we just aged differently. The one thing they seem to like to do is eat. We go to the diner together, reminisce a bit and call it a day. I've tried to think of things to do after but like you all I get are excuses. I have no suggestions. It is what it is.

Your right about the eating, lol. She said they wanted to go to a museum. I told them it would cost $12, complains about that, but don't mind paying $17 for a meal. Go figure? Their so cute and make me laugh. But are a little Bossy, they call me the kid. I Know they don't get out much because of the driving. Wish They would be more open minded?
