Things to think about

Deep thought of today: When you clean out a vacuum cleaner. You become a vacuum cleaner.

i really like the reasoning of saying happy holidays instead of Merry Christmas. It definitely IS more respectful . We don’t know what everyone’s religion is or if they even have one.
I like Happy Holidays because its a more inclusive greeting of best wishes for the entire holiday season. I'd rather have two months of happy days than one day of merry.

I finally got finished reading the 14 pages of this thread.

I wish people Happy Holidays because my intent is to spread joy to them, not to me. Wishing Merry Christmas to strangers whose beliefs are unknown strikes me as a presumptuous arrogance that serves the addresser and diminishes the addressee.

If I know they celebrate Christmas, I say "Merry Christmas." If I don't know what they celebrate, or if they celebrate, I don't wish them any seasonal greeting - I just say "Have a good day." There are those who do not celebrate birthdays, and are offended at any mention of their birthday. I can't please everyone.

While watching a YouTube video Colin Furze did on using magnets for bicycle suspension, he mentioned that if we lived in the woodland period we would be oblivious to magnets because wood doesn't interact with magnets. He questioned what other forces or matter we may be unaware of today because they have not been placed next to each other.
