Things you enjoy that most people don't?

I like to play PC games, mainly RPG;s and MMO's (not World of Warcraft though). Currently replaying The Witcher 3. Amazing story set in a fun and beautiful setting. I have been playing MMO's for nearly 25 years now. Many who I run into playing my main game (Lord of the Rings Online) are in their 60's and older. I have been playing with one person for nearly twenty years and he is now in his mid 70's.

As far as chores goes, I also enjoy doing laundry. I also enjoyed mowing when I did have a lawn to mow.

Soooo, what video card are you running for your gaming? I don't game(used to) but I have several Nvidia GTX and RTX series cards that I do Folding@Home with. Burns the electricity so last couple months with the heatwave my Folding effort has been reduced.

Edit: I should address the thread topic:

I enjoy exercising. I used to be heavy, with all sorts of metabolic syndrome type problems. Now I'm not, and am in better shape at age 70 than I was in my 40s. I like fitness classes for seniors, lifting weights, leading Taichi sessions and yoga(just got Silver Sneaker certified).

I currently have the Nvidia RTX-2080. Eventually I do want to upgrade but of course there has been a huge shortage of graphic cards the past couple of years. Things are suppose to finally stabilize soon thanks to more availability of chips and the slow down demand from bit coin crunchers.

Not sure its really enjoy, but I do it and don't feel put upon. Like you I was quite heavy and am in better shape now than at 40.

I live in a small town, not many gyms or fitness classes, certainly none for seniors. So I do it with a lot of younger folks, never had a problem with it. Most of the people in the classes are fit young women, and they all know my name, don't know anywhere else I could go and have so many pretty young things pay a little attention to me. So all in all, maybe I do like it!

If anyone is contemplating getting into gym workouts I am living proof its possible. I started at age 67, and will be 70 next week. And don't feel like you have to go to anything special for seniors, people appreciate seeing us try. We do have a couple of women in their 80s in the classes sometimes.

That's a plus right there.

In our Active Aging circuit class there are several participants in their mid 80s, and holding their own!

I love writing (as you all can probably tell) so wherever I go I have to carry a notebook.

Something else I enjoy is cleaning my apartment. I turn on my music and clean away.

Oh yes, most important............I love to make lists!
Oh yes, lists are a must have.
Or else I'd never get anything done! lol

Some of the higher end cards like the 3090ti have a TDP of 450 W, which will necessitate a power supply upgrade. The Nvidia 4xxx series are coming(fall?) and are getting to be quite the monsters...
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 Ti

Yes they are ! I am happy with my card for now. If I want to upgrade to the 4xxx series I will probably just get a new motherboard and build new PC. I miss Fry's Electronics :(

I wish my tinnitus sounded like the ocean instead of air hissing out of a truck tire...
I have the same. In both ears, but sometimes, the right ear is very quiet compared to the left ear. The left ear is constant. My left ear is either really loud, or kind of low keyed. Whoever finds a cure for this disease will be an instant multi billionaire.

I have been to more ENT's than I can count. They all tell me the same thing. To save my money on home remedies and ads you see on TV or in magazines. There is NO cure. I was even at Walter Reed years ago (I spend 2 days there doing testing) and Johns Hopkins Hospital for treatment. There is nothing they can do. BUT, Supposedly the NIH is experimenting on a cure, which entails the neurologist doing something with the wires in the brain. Check it out on the internet. I am sure you will find something about it.

If you know of a cure, please advise at once. Thank you.

A tinnitus cure would be huge , I would gladly contribute to making of the billionaire. I tested with a V.A. audiologist, they gave me a 10% disability for hearing loss. Part of the test revealed some kind of bone damage. If I find anything about the NIH's research I'll surely report back here.

I consume about a pound of ginger root each week, half in juice and the other half sliced on my oatmeal. They always ask me what I am going to do with all that ginger root at the grocery store checkout.
Are you seeing tangible benefits from your ginger root consumption?
