Things you won't find anymore...

I quit smoking in 1979, long before most of these rules came about in either the U.S. or the U.K. I well remember the breaks I took, indoors, lighting up a cigarette in the mid-70s, and having some of my co-workers waft away the smoke while complaining about it. I tried to accommodate them, but in being honest, I was a wee tiny bit annoyed in doing so.

It's been a long, long time since then and I completely understand the disgust that many have with putting up with second-hand smoke.

Those restrictions that came against tobacco smoking in public were right and proper, IMHO.

Who remembers the neck tie? Strange sort of accoutrement, it was worn around the neck and tied at the throat.
It was worn by mostly by men, and although it was beloved of the professions, all ranks and stations in life wore a tie to work.

I think a neck tie is still the sign of an astute business person and reflects well on anyone as a mark of professionalism and style.

remember when Walter Cronkite would deliver the news. When we listened to him and believed in what he had to say. Those days are gone sadly. Now we are deluged with opinions, facts, videos and pictures that are all subject to AI influence. What is real and what is contrived. What is the truth and what is to be believed is all subject to investigation, research and common s sense. we are at a point when those with common sense need to step forward. No, let me correct my thoughts. We are doomed. there is no answer. there is no correction. we are at the mercy of, and forgive me for those who don't agree, we are at the mercy seat of God. Lord help us find a way.
Don't like my comment, fine. Otherwise consider what I am saying. Don't believe in God....fine, offer your opinions, advice, council. Show us the ways. Your ways. Show us or be quiet.
