Metal pill containers. They want people to carry any meds in the original prescription bottles but this would weight a lot. My mom takes a lot of meds so I buy her the little purse pill boxes. I use to buy them in hospital gift shops or at yard sales for a dollar or so. Now they've disappeared. They have lots of plastic ones but no pretty metal ones with painted lids.

Kids playing with marbles, hula hoops, yoyo's, jacks, etc.
My Grandmother had a 'little man' that was on a stand, and you could press on a 'plate' on the bottom to make the little man bend in all different directions. To me, much more fun than the electronic gadgets today. And the 3-D Kodak viewers with inserts so you could see the Florida Gardens, Hummingbirds, etc. And Kaleidoscopes -- although some version of those are still available. Paper dolls you got to cut out with real scissors and had little paper tabs to hold the outfits on the cardboard dolls.

Hitch hikers. It was a valid form of transportation when I was young. The day we got out of high school a friend and I grabbed a couple backpacks and stuck out our thumbs in upstate NY. Three months later we were in Berkeley California. We got a place to stay every night except one along with food and other amenities. Some places we stayed for a while. Almost three weeks at one place in Boulder Colorado. You just can't do that these days. It was an amazing trip.
