Things your adult child has said or done that bring proud tears to your eyes

I get sentimental over these things as I assume most of us do.
Share some things your offspring has done or said that made your heart just swell.

In a recent conversation with my youngest son he was telling me how his daughter (now 8)
still asks for him to carry her at times. Just recently Mom told him, she really needs to walk by
herself, she's big enough.
Son said.... "having 2 others years before her Mom, I had to say "No, as long as she still allows me
to carry her, I will because soon enough the day will come when she won't want me to and my heart
is going to break that day".
It choked me up. Because I remembered his father and I had that same conversation at one time too about him.
It's wonderful to see signs of their father has lived on in them after all these years.

My daughter moved in with me when I had cancer. She took great care of me, my dog (also the family dog), and when I could finally eat real food again, cooked for me. A chemo side effect was that most food tasted horrible. She drove me to all my appointments, and brought my dog along because he was glued to me the whole time I was in treatment. Of course, he couldn't come in the medical buildings, so she took him to get pup cups and donut holes to make up for it. (My dog is the one who discovered I had cancer.)

And at the end of all this caregiving (1.5 years), she got her Bachelor of Science degree in math, with fantastic grades.

I can go on about my daughter all day long. She has thought she is the boss of her bros since the beginning, even though she is 1.5 years younger. The kids don't look like this any more. The boys are 31 and my daughter is 30. The photo of my daughter is old, too. She has long hair now. I'm not worried about anyone identifying them.
