I've had a couple of these with pretty much the same wording. Sent from my own email address, allegedly. The ones I received might even have been exactly the same. It's someone just copying and pasting a message in the hope that someone will fall for it.

As for how was it was sent from your own email address, I would doubt it ever was. It's possible to hide the sender's email behind a different email. In this case, the sender has hidden thair email behind yours. I believe its called Email Spooffing.

The best way to deal with these scammers who claim they emailed you from your own account is with Message Filters. Create one with two or more verification rules.

1. One set to check the Body of the email for a word or phrase you don't think you'll ever get otherwise. Such as "pervert" in this case.
2. One set to check the Subject of the email for a word or phrase you don't think you'll ever get otherwise. Here you just copy the Subject of the email.

Set it to match both of them, then set it to scan all new incoming email automatically and save it.

I opened a messenger message from a friend and realized right away that he didn’t post that kind of message. Then the hacker went through my friends contacts and hacked all of us.
I changed my passwords on my account and actually did a good job of advising my friend how to deal with the hacker.
He actually was able to start another account and transfer everything except what the hacker had a hand in.
But the hacker opened a Facebook account in my name and I am still having to switch back and forth from the hacked account to my real account.
I have tried to get Facebook to help me delete the unwanted account. Even going through all of the steps that it takes to delete an account and when it gets to the end it says- You can’t delete this account because this device hasn’t been recognized long enough.
Same phone I’ve used for years so it is hard to tell if Facebook or the hacker is blocking my attempts to delete that account.
