Now, this far predates my day…but this is a label from a cough syrup manufactured in Baltimore in 1888! Guess it’s hard to cough when you’re unconscious, so the stuff worked!

Which of the ingredients would do it for you? Notice that they’re all “skillfully combined;” that’s the art of it! Gotta get me some of this, for medicinal purposes, of course! *cough, cough!* 🤒

Got any other old remedies for what ails you? 💊

What do you mean the "bogus remedies of yore"?
Today, there's cures for everything by some stuff only grown in a lagoon on some island. Then there's special beets that allows people to climb mountains, ski, sky dive and ride horses in the surf.
Those bogus remedies are still here.

Who’s to say what’s bogus and what’s not.
I’ve got my own cough remedy and it’s nothing at all like the above.. I’m also not afraid to try ancient remedies that have worked for centuries

As a kid, any kind of scrape meant I had to marked with mercurochrome. I'm 77 now, and that stuff is just beginning to wash off. It stung a little bit, so you know it was working, then you were branded with that stuff for at least a week.

Lots of ticks in the wooded area I live now. A neighbor told me when she was young her mother would wash her down with kerosine to get rid of any ticks that might have attached.
