What I didn't know was that Richard Marx, actually co-wrote Dance with my Father.......how did I not know this

Jerry Jeff Walker wrote "Mr. Bojangles" after meeting a homeless street performer, who used the name "Mr. Bojangles" to hide his identity, in a New Orleans jail cell where they were both incarcerated for public intoxication in 1965. The man told stories about his life and his dog, which moved Walker to write the song.

Whoa, I can't believe this one! (I'm loving secondhandsongs, Bret!) This is my all-time favorite Conway Twitty song... never heard anyone else do it. I liked John Prine when I was a teen, too... this is a treasure! @Bretrick

secondhandsongs is a truly useful site.
Along with versions there are adaptations and highlights.
Adaptations are artists who change the song in some way such as Johnny Scoggins - I'm Gonna Stay
Adaptations also provides foreign covers of the song.
Here is Finnish singer Olavi Virta singing He'll Have to Go.
Olavi was marketed as the Bing Crosby of Finland.

This might be the most covered song I know of. "Unchained Melody".
More than 670 different artists have sung "Unchained Melody," with over 1,500 total recordings made by artists in multiple languages.
It originated in the 1955 movie Unchained. and since then, it's been in a few other movies. (the most remembered is probably Ghost).

Doing it live with an orchestra and no chance for an edit and before the days of autotune. Add to that the fact he was fighting a head cold and he said and I quote "I was so nervous that night because my mother was in the audience I was afraid of messing up.
I say, hands down, that Bobby Hatfield, (1/2 of the Righteous Brothers) owns this song.

Unchained (1955)
Ghost (1990)
While You Were Sleeping (1995)
The Parent Trap (1998)
Love Affair (1994)
The Naked Gun 2½ (1991)
Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle (2003)
A Cinderella Story (2004)
Taxi (2004)
Bride Wars (2009)
