Three Jabs And One Infection

I have had three separate vaccinations and caught Covid itself at the end of January this year, now I've caught it again!

Judging by the symptoms that I had last time and this, sore throat and a runny nose, it wouldn't surprise me if there were thousands of people out there spreading it because they just think they have a cold.

I think you are right and as Many got Taxpayer funded tests at home we will not know how many have it again and again

Wishing you a speedy recovery, @Purwell.

I suspect you’re correct that the numbers are higher than we reported.
If they use the tests, I hope they have the decency to stay away from others.

How do you define "a cold"? ☺️

the tests sent out for home use have a problem with accuracy and what they say is more often gives false negatives .... but also false positives
so i doubt they will stay home etc... if test said negative..

A negative test means you don't have Covid.

I hope you feel better soon. I remember reading somewhere that the rapid test is more accurate on the second or third day after symptoms start.

We've always been told that we could still get Covid (or a variant of Covid) after vaccination, but that it would be a milder case. If you are still alive and did not have to go to the hospital, than those shots saved you that. Exactly what they were intended to do.

Sigh, the anti-vaxxers never give up.

Purwell, sorry about your (mild-sounding) illness, but it obviously could have been a LOT worse without the vaccine. Your experience proves the point that even if the vaccine doesn't completely prevent the disease, it usually prevents people from dying of it.

You are right that no one will ever really be sure that a "cold" is just a cold. They could easily have a mild case of Covid, which they are spreading to everyone else. Unless we keep testing ourselves all the time, there's no way to be sure.

We were not told we could still get Covid after being vaccinated at the beginning of the vaccine's availability. Obviously, that would have hurt sales. First came the scare tactics to sell the vaccine. Then, we were told we could still get Covid AFTER people started questioning the vaccine's effectiveness. Then we were told if we got Covid anyway, we would be less sick - which is the same BS we were told about flu shots.
Intelligent people don't like deception.

By the way, I haven't been sick with Covid & never been vaccinated. A miracle, I tell ya! 🤣

They didn't tell you that you could still get Covid after being vaccinated until there were to many "breakthrough" infections to ignore it.

Yes, exactly. COVID is a form of pneumonia. When did even regular pneumonia not become dangerous? Uh, that would be never.

It is exactly akin to saying that, all of a sudden, sharks in the ocean no longer are dangerous. It's biology..it absolutely does not care about your wants or feelings.

If you have medical conditions...remain cautious. If you are over 60...remain cautious. If you are over 60 and have medical conditions? Remain VERY cautious.

Odd! Try as I might, I cannot find the number of deaths from Covid, YTD 2022! All I can find is total deaths since it started, 2019 deaths, 2020 deaths, and 2021 deaths, but nothing current for 2022. Why is that? I think it is because it does not fit the narrative the government wants to keep going.... after all they have already paid the companies with our tax money for the vaccines, but not all of them have yet been used by Americans...

What about hospitalizations due to Covid? Are the trending up or not?

The original metric the government used to drive the urgency was the number of people being tested and the number who tested positive. I always thought this information without the hospitalizations and deaths did not tell the story. But, that's just me...

Do your own research...if someone can find a viable source for this data, I would like to know....

Ask your doctor about taking a blood thinner for several months. The Covid-19 spike protein--regardless of introduction into the body by infection or vaccine--can cause blood clotting, often micro-clotting that's asymptomatic. Dunno if that risk increases with multiple exposures (infection and vaccination), but do know of several people who had elevated D-dimer levels who caught Covid after vaccination/booster. If you ever experience even mild stroke like symptoms, go to the ER ask for a D-dimer test as part of your workup. So far, I haven't had Covid (if so it was super mild), nor have I been vaccinated, but if I do either, I have no medical conditions/contraindications for taking a blood thinner and will definitely do so.

With each new variant seemingly more contagious and less symptomatic, I think that's going to be the norm. Every pandemic in the history of the world has ended and this is often how. Scientists have known for awhile that Covid can't be eradicated, but more and more are saying it's endemic.

If a person has any narrow or blocked arteries, even micro clotting could mean death. I think that was one of the reason's my Dr advised against my getting vaccinated.

CDC withholding COVID data over fears of misinterpretation

https://nypost.com/2022/02/22/cdc-withholding-covid-data-over-fears-of-misinterpretation/

The CDC has admitted it is withholding large portions of COVID-19 data — including on vaccine boosters — from the public because it fears the information could be misinterpreted.

The leading public health agency has only published a small sample of the data it has been collecting — despite being two years into the pandemic, sources told the New York Times.

Kristen Nordlund, a CDC spokeswoman, said the reason for the slow release of data is “because basically, at the end of the day, it’s not yet ready for prime time.”

She added that the CDC’s “priority when gathering any data is to ensure that it’s accurate and actionable.”

But another reason is that the data could be misinterpreted by the public, Nordlund admitted.

They need more time to mold it into the narrative they need it to fit.

regardless of why ... my thought is they work for US not the other way around.

I remember classes in elementary school telling us about the propaganda of some other countries and how citizens are kept in the dark and fed Bullshit...... If anything this last 2 years show me often we are no better.
FDA wants to slow walk documents over 50 years ...... the CDC follows polls more then facts .... and NOW instead of letting us see data and even debate they ADMIT holding it back..... shameful actions for people we the taxpayers ...pay

The CDC is hardly perfect. But it is getting a bad rap.

My ex, Karen, is a microbiologist. Works in cellular senescence (cancer research).

All that is going on, is very simple.

COVID hit, there was no time for the usual procedures. And what is happening is that folks are seeing the kind of internal debates that go on in all scientific institutions.

Usually there is time to come to consensus and deliver one clear, consistent message.

Now, what is happening is that people are hearing reports of the internal debates. Masks are necessary. Well, not always. But sometimes they are.

These are the normal kinds of debates that go in in scientific inquiry. But because of the urgency, the, you know, "early drafts" of the reports have become public.

So, it is all very confusing. However, to a researcher, they understand exactly what these confusions mean.

I get some of it, because I was around Karen and her buddies and their grant proposals and all that.

The ability to create these effective vaccines in such a short short period of time, is nothing less than a medical industry miracle.

Now, a lot of the reason it happened that fast, was that a lot of the science for these kinds of vaccines, were first developed while doing research into a vaccine for AIDS (which has not yet come to pass).

The bottom line here is quite simple. It is a dangerous organism. Err on the side of caution. Be as careful as you can.

If you have medical conditions...remain cautious. If you are over 60...remain cautious. If you are over 60 and have medical conditions? Remain VERY cautious.

And, of course, never listen to a politician.
