Three Police Officers Shot and Killed Two Others Also Shot

Earlier yesterday afternoon, five Officers from a local police department went to a residence to follow up on a domestic complaint and to serve a warrant.
Unfortunately, 3 of those officers are no longer alive. The shooter was shot and killed by the police. The Governor, Attorney General and the Colonel of the Pennsylvania State Police made an appearance at the hospital where the 2 remaining Officers are in serious, but stable condition. The guests all made comments on TV from the York Hospital.

The facts are slow coming in. This is a very unfortunate situation as we had another gunman earlier this year kill another police officer from a different department here in the same County. That shooter was also taken out by a State Trooper. So far this year, our County has lost 4 police officers. These three families are suffering tonight and their suffering will continue for many more nights.

My God, just because people have differences with each other, picking up a gun is no way to resolve the differences. “All Lives Matter.”

Soon, no one will want to be a cop and anyone that thinks a cop being killed is OK should seek mental counseling.

Officers Down

Last night, there was a procession taking the 3 dead Officers to the morgue. Residents of York County were notified of the procession of the bodies being taken to the Coroner’s office. Hundreds, maybe thousands of residents stood along the route of the bodies being transported, along with several police, fire trucks and ambulances joining the procession.

This is a terrible event for this County. We are a County of God-fearing people who honor what our first responders do for us. Our police departments, fire departments, EMT’s and Hospital workers are all very dedicated to giving the County their best efforts. They all are very special people to us.

Which is why the police do not like to respond to domestic calls. What a tragedy.
The shooter was dressed in camouflage clothing and hiding in a cornfield near the farmhouse. A warrant was going to be served on him for disobeying a court order (PFA) to stay away from his girlfriend who he was stalking. It hasn’t yet been labeled as an ambush, but that’s what I got out of it from all the news reports I have read and seen on CNN.

Thanks, Lewkat. This is a devastating event to my County. My grandson is a police officer, but not with the department that responded to this call. He did, however, help with removing the dead Officers and taking them to the Coroner’s office for their autopsy.

They do that here in Mo. too when they know an officer is being transported up the Interstate the overpasses are filled with people.
I am so glad my son is not on the streets anymore. It was a very hard decision for him to make as he loved the community he was in.
But he saw the signs coming. They lost a caring Officer off the streets.
Better than therapy, they need a loved one to become an Officer, and hear the stories of their day. You quickly get a whole new
idea of what all in entails.
My heart goes out to those families more than you know.

I am sorry to learn of your community’s loss. I was watching the aftermath of how it played out yesterday on TV.
Hopefully, everyone will be supportive of the families that lost their husband, son, father or uncle.
It will take time for your community to heal. This event is a tragedy and nothing will change that.
I hope the two Officers that are still in the hospital recover.
Best wishes to all of those in the community.

RIP. 60 police officers have been lost this year so far nation wide.

Apparently the killer was accused of stalking his ex girlfriend and one of the accusations was standing outside her window with a rifle in camo pants. The ex also said she thinks he set her truck on fire a month earlier. The shootout was on the property of the ex girl friend.

This pos was obsessed to say the least.

My condolences to the families of the deceased police officers. I hope the other 2 survive and live to tell the tale, although they may have to retire depending on the seriousness of their injuries.

I agree with 911. There may come a time, if it hasn’t already, when no one wants to be a cop. I heard on tv weeks ago that many PD’s are lacking the ability to attract new officers. Who wants to live in a world without cops?

I took our city Police test in the 70's, kind of glad I did not make it now. Those who care zilch about dying care nothing about other lives. 🥀
